"Same government type" diplo bonus bug?

Okay, maybe I'm not seeing something really obvious here, but I can't figure it out. I'm the Maratha Confederacy (Republic), I hover my mouse over France (my ally, a Monarchy), and it tells me I have a +15 diplomatic bonus for "same government type". What am I not seeing? I get the same with my other ally, Spain.



PS: The whole "hover your mouse and try to read text as multiple panels switch one after the other in a sequence" thing is really annoying.

Not only that, but I just realized that I have a PENALTY for "different government type" with the United Provinces! We have the same government! Republic.

Yeah I know. The diplomatic relation score doesn't get updated properly. So factions still think you're a monarchy while you're not and award you bonusses and penalties for that.
