Empire shortcut symbol?

Hi everyone. Please don't merge this with the "Rant" thread...

Well, does everyone else get the feeling the shortcut picure for Empire is kinda lame and most likely just thrown in there at the end? I remember when downloading the demo for Steam, I got that image as my shortcut on my desktop and thought that it must just be some replacement or something because they haven't finished they game yet. But I downloaded the game and well... I was kind of disappointed. I have Rome, BI, M2 and all its expansions, and those really catch my eye, Rome with the cool Julii sybol, Medieval with all those different helmets and such.
I expected it to look kind of like the AoE 3 shortcut pic, just the military type of hat they used to wear, like the guy on the TWC Center advertisement above.

I dunno, that's just what I think. I believe they put it off to the last minute and just rushed it. I mean, c'mon... The thing is just an E!
I think it would be cool if a modder did a different shortcut pic.

You clearly cant see the massive importance of an awesome shortcut!!

If CA had bothered to do a cool icon no one would be complaining about CTD!! Cause its would be an actual favor the game would be doing to you! Crashing the game to the desktop so you could admire the work that CA poured into the icon!

I just think we're at the point where we'll stoop to modding anything and everything we can since CA are taking their time with this new patch.

I honestly wouldn't mind a different shortcut. It just looks like a red blob.

I'd also like to comment on the texture of the manual!! In Rome and M2, the manual's felt like a baby's bottom with just enough grip!!

ETW manual is like sandpaper, gives me raging blisters.

Blisters, no. Papercuts, yes. It is so thin I already lost it, and don't even bother looking for it since I know there is nothing educational about it. It needs more content, like the Rome manual.

Icons are important. They are what persuades you to play the game when you don't know what to play. If its boring, generic or confusing, it leaves a bad impression, and you are less likely to choose it. But CA won't care at that point since you already own the game.

I am sure one of our talented people here can come up with a new icon, and if you really hate it, change it. Right click on the icon, then properties, then the change icon button. Make it whatever you want, like at BK, where you Have it your way.

Oh gawd I hope your right! We HAVE to have our own thread to talk about the

ing shortcut icon!

Its just a shortcut icon. I tend to think just about all of those are pretty much thrown together.
