A Few Questions from a noob

I have EMpire total war and because of curiosity I just bought this game online and I have a few questions.
HOw is the online community? Is it still active? Can I spectate matches online? Is the expansion pack worth getting?
and lastly, For people who have both games; which one do you prefer and why?

I can not comment on Empire, but Medieval 2 MP is very fun. The community has seemed to shrink with the release of Empire, but ther are still MP games going on most of the time. The players are usually patient, good sports, and have a sense of maturity. I just joined the MP community a feew weeks ago, but I am enjoying the matches so far.

I don't think you can spectate games, unless you join a game, create an armny, then just watch as others attack you

I don't have the expansion.

Where do you go to play? I have alot of trouble finding people to play in the Main menu Multiplayer option.

When you log into the MP lobby, do you see games listed?

If not, I suspect you need the 1.2 patch. Unpatched, I don't think you will se any MP games.

first get 1.2 then 1.3.
