    Default Happy Tea Party Day

This old Libertarian got a tear in his eye reading about all the 'tea parties' held across the US today. Sadly for myself this was the one day of the week I would not be able to attend one but I'm proud of those that did.

Not surprisingly the 'fair and balanced' media is trying to ignore or attack this, but these are the kind of activities we need to step up if we hope to avoid real conflict in the decades to come.

I watched Hannity to see the coverage. Needless to say it was what I expected, a Neocon sore loser circle jerk. Although I do approve of Americans using the right to protest! FOX has been pushing this stupid story so hard for the past week, it's ridiculous!

Yes because not being a socialist makes you a neocon.

    Please try again.

There were 3 in my area alone today. Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean its not news.

Yeah there was one downtown at the Alamo here today. The Nuge was there with his guitar (no guns though, unfortunately), along with Glenn Beck for whatever reason.

LOL, what a bunch of whining losers "supported" by Hannity, Beck and all of those strangely ignorant characters.

I wonder why the "fascist crowd" in the G-20 thread is not posting here.

I'm not a socialist. Sorry, but it was ridiculous. they had Joe the plumber and all of the Conservative gang there yucking it up. I to disapprove of the actions of the Obama administration, but these "Tea Parties" were meaningless. It's the same old song and dance. During the Bush Admin, CNN and MSNBC promoted Anti War protests and everything which I vehemently disagreed with , FOX promoted these "Tea Parties". What in the wrold, did holding signs and everything accomplish? "We're doing iot for freedom" was the comment I heard, freedom from what? The whole thing was IMHO ridiculous.

What I think is funny is their use of "Teabagging" for what they're doing. Epic fail on the neocons' part.
MSNBC's response is, as usual, extra-hilarious.

God damn Pelosi is a moron. I'm sure these protestors have real concerns, but as usual the Dems bring up the Bogey man (Dubya) and don't address the issues.

Nah. Generally speaking, people who tend to watch the news aren't three years old, eh.

Oh man that clip from MSNBC was hilarious, if they did more things like that it might actually go back to watching them. Saw that Jon Stewart a month ago, awesome show if you want a good laugh.

Anyways like I said in the other thread on this subject, it's great to see people out there expressing their rights to protest but I'm not sure if they could have done it in a more pathetic and embarrassing way. The only thing Washington is going to get out of this is a good laugh. I suggest next time they take a page from Dr. Kings book, not the Lazy Mans Guide to Protesting Under 60 Minutes. Get everyone to go to Washington and toss the tea bags onto the front lawn of the White House or something, do something major that will get your point across, not some extremely cheap knockoff of one of our nations most cherished events. If people don't want to take the time to go to Washington and send their message at the doorstep of their political enemies because it's an "inconvenience" then they have no business protesting in the first place. I seriously wonder how many of these people actually knew what they were protesting or just went along with it because Mr. Hannity and Limbaugh said it was the "patriotic" thing to do?

Either way this event will be forgotten by the end of the month by all the media and tards on Washington. It wasn't covered by most media outlets because honestly it wasn't news worthy and the people who actually cared about it either went or tuned into Fox news so no reason to waste time and money on it. I'm actually going to agree with MSNBC on this one though, which is an oddity. These people were not out their arguing and hissing when the Republicans were tossing cash out the door and into the bonfire for the six years they controlled Washington it just seems kind of convinent that now it's a big deal and now we should be concerned for out childrens future, but I suppose that's the beauty of the American to party system, you pick a side and that side is the one that's always right.

On a side note what the heck has happened to Glenn Beck. I used to watch it him quite a bit when he was with CNN, he's always been somewhat emotional but was fairly level headed and gave a decent view from the Republican side of things. Now that he's with Fox he's just gone completely insane and is quickly moving up into Hannity's level of ignorance. It's a shame to when he went over there I thought there might actually be a show on Fox I could watch without feeling my insides start to burn.

The activities were quite amusing, I must admit.

These right wing extremists certainly aren't good at politics, but they are good at entertaining people for free.

In a country of more than 300 million citizens, the fact that they could only muster a few hundred thousand in protests is a complete joke. Hell, these fools can't even agree with each other on whether Obama is a socialist, fascist, communist, or some kind of political spectrum defying combination!

Of course, when none of them even know what any of those things are, that's to be expected.

The local paper today reported the Austin one had all of one thousand people attending, including Gov. Rick "Do you like my hair" Perry?
