    Default Retreating Navies Distance Bug

I have experimented with navies that are retreated during another faction's turn (eg your fleet being attacked during the AI's turn) and it appears that the distance your fleet is allowed to retreat after being defeated is a full turn's movement. This applies in any case where the fleet has at least one movement point left.

If your fleet has moved its full allowance the turn before, it will not be allowed to retreat, and will be sunk/captured if you lose.

In effect, if you move your fleet 100% of its allowance on your turn, the fleet will not have a retreat option.
If you move your fleet 95% of its allowance, it will be able to retreat another 100% of its movement allowance.

It stands to reason that the distance allowed for a retreating fleet should be whatever movement points were left at the end of the player's last turn. Eg if your fleet used moved 60% of its movement allowance on your turn, then that fleet should be able to move 40% of its total movement allowance if retreated on the UI's turn (or even on your same turn).

Its the pathfinding bug that you are experiencing. The game crashes when it tries to chart a long distance course during retreat.
