Graphics Card Upgrade Question (PCI/AGP)
I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card for Med. II but I don't have PCI Express, only standard PCI and AGP.
Are all cards PCI express nowadays or can I find a good card that will play Med. II?
Note: I'd love to be able to play Empire if possible, my system meets all the requirements otherwise, just slightly lower in terms of processor speed.
Cheers,

Re: Graphics Card Upgrade Question (PCI/AGP)
from the first few that i read by google'ing, i found that one of the best might be x1300 ATI, either way, i don't think it's able to play M2TW, in battles that is, in campaign u might be able to, but i don't think you will buy a game to experience only half the excitement lol
use this as well for a little more info "http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest"
asking for an exact graphic card to run med2, i think it's hard to answer, not only that they might be rare, but also your budget options? your other other PC setting, like CPU, ram, would help to know
this statements doesn't help much, but might give an idea of some graphic card "I own Medieval 2, and with my Nvidia 6500 i could play it on low graphics ",
only problem is thati don't know if that graphic crad is PCie or PCI (tough i strongly believe it's PCI)
but aside all this, i think you should consider buying a new motherboard or (depending on your other setting, cpu, ram, etc) buy a new computer :/
also to "kill your thirst", you can try out the Rome: Total War titles or Medieval 1, you should be able to run those without any major problems

Re: Graphics Card Upgrade Question (PCI/AGP)
From another thread the X300 will play the vanilla campaign, but no extend map mods like Stainless Steel or Regions and Provinces, nor will it play battles. You lose on the shader controls required by this game. Rome will on low settings and leave the mods alone. Same problem.
You should take your money and sink it into a new setup. If it's 6 years old, and AGP, you can't upgrade anything appreciably. Any of the cpus, ram or even video cards that have come out in the last two years won't fit your motherboard and odds are a new motherboard won't fit your present case because of the layout of the edge conntctors.
