    Default make infantry ubit have cavalry strat map movement?

    Hi, I was reading about scandanavian nobles, and they, I read, generally preferred to ride tto battle, then dismount and fight. I am working on norway and sweden in the mod impspy and i are making, is it possible, to have an infantry nobles unit move as fast as, say, a general's bodyguard? help appreciated.

    maybe you could play with export_descr_unit and make some changes.

    sorry, did I say fast? I meant far. I want the infantry bodyguard to move as far as a cavalry unit on the strat map. is that even possible?

    Not for just one type of infantry.
    You can make a change in descr_campaign_db so that all infantry moves the same distance. In the <misc> section you would have to add a line.
    Code:
    <infantry_movement_points_modifier float="1.20"/> <!-- movement points modifier for infantry units -->
    1.2 is just a guess at a match for cavalry, with 1 being the default.

    A possible option would be to use the non-combatant category for your chosen unit in EDU and add this line to the <misc> section in the descr_campaign_db.
    Code:
    <non-combatant_movement_points_modifier float="1.20"/> <!-- movement points modifier for non-combatant units -->
    Never tried this though, so no idea if it would actually work... But I do know the game accepts the non-combatant tag in EDU and it doesn't prevent the unit from fighting or anything so it may be worth a try...

    Well I don't know for sure, but I believe non-combatants are all the agent characters...

    yeah, I knew that, so there is no simple way to make an infantry unit have cavalry strat movement. not whithout turning my unit into an agent

    Only one infantry unit, no. But all infantry units, Eothese already provided the answr:

    <infantry_movement_points_modifier float="1.20"/> <!-- movement points modifier for infantry units -->
