Not in like hours but how many years did it take? The fastest I've ever beat it and now the third time is I beat it as carthage in 211 BC. I took the lazy way out though most people I know take italy, africa, spain, and the middle east but I skipped wasting decades slowly wearing down the egyptian armies and took all of gaul, germania, briton and greece. How fast have other people beaten the game and with who and how?

my fastest was by year 221. I was playing as gual and althoguh at first had my ****** kicked, right when I got the tmeple of eponas going ( +3 experiance) and swordsmen were avialible the gamer got boring. All I had to do was to march my single army of sowrdmen into italy, and I defeated every romans army that came near me ( I kiilled the enite SPQR army in a river crossing battle in which I lost some 300 men and them soem 2500 men, I jhad simalar battles with the other romans). After the italiean peninsual was mine I let the romans have sicaly and western greece ( although both werre finishe doff by carthage and greece/macedonai respectvly). I then quickly conquered Spain and Germania/thrace/ dacia using armies that were half swordemn ( the mojority silver or gold chevrons by then ) and half forrester worbads. After I conqured the italina peninsual I conquered the res of hte lands I just mentioned in some 50 tunrs ( almost taking a prinvince a turn). I won to having 50 princinces. I found thqat if you have a stonrg army ( like I did) for each fornt that you dont really need to atack armies, only garrisons, and if the armies have anyhitng to say about it you wipe them out with you in the defensive position ( and usally id take out the garrison which were the reinfocements, which is how id get a porvince a turn).

I've never beaten the 50 provinces, or gotten to the cival war with Rome.

I know its bad, but I get bored... There aren't enough units. I have added some units, but eventually it still gets slow.

Me too, lol. The only civil war I got was in The First Triumvirate mod, which kind of immediately starts one.

The only campaign I've beaten is with Greece and that was the 15 provinces one. Sad isn't it. I've never even had the marius reform happen(to me as the Romans).

I have so many good games that I haven't finished.... Legend of Zelda, I never got past that stupid temple. I wish I had.

Neverwinter nights. Um.... The game is like 20 years of your life.

    And RTW.

    dang! 240 bc?

    y'all need to slow down

it's 189B.C. the marius reforms happened about 15 years ago, I'm just about finished phasing out my citizen garrisons for professional legionaires, I'm just gettin started!

I too though have never had a elongated campaign with post-marian units, but I've been playing this one for a very long time, so it's still new and fresh

For me : 253bc with the Greeks, and I am a quite slow player (I want good armies :p )...
The bad thing is that I was not able to produce spartian hoplites...only 9000 people in Sparta

I let the AI build up with SPQR...then it only get's boring after about 200 BC.

The problem is that the AI factions slowly pick away at each other...by the time you reach them they are ready to die And the load/save feature does not help

The problem is the AI, full stop!

I usually have it beaten by 210...

If i'm playing as a barbarian faction it will take me into the 100s some times. The longest it took me to beat the game was with the Gauls and it was until 160s, that was my third time playing i could probably do better with them now.

Neverwinter nights. Um.... The game is like 20 years of your life.
Blaspemy for not finishing that game!!! Beat the expansions I demand it!!! (standard campaign sux, lol)

well i had it beat as juli a LONG time ago, but there was still Egypt, Scippi, and brutii and myself all as superpower of the world. I controled eastren europe and spain, green had britiana and middle europe, blue has that penensula beside asia minor and asia minor, and egypt had all the desert.
    That was about 200 BC...

Now its 98 BC and I have killed reg, I control everything excpet a small chunk of the deserts and asia minor.

The minimap is mostly red, .

I play RTR. Playing as the Macedonians in 5.4.1 I beat the game by 257BC. The second king was still alive! The last province taken was I think Thebes giving me an empire that stretched vertically on the map. The empire was however very unstable on the fringes due to the rushed conquests. My navy also left alot to be desired and none of my Macedonian or Greek cities had reached a large size due to the constant leaching of soldiers.

I've done it in maybe 150 years. How the hell do you guys get it done by 240 BC? Thats like impossible without cheats.
