    Default 295 GTX problem

    Just purchased this card and to avail of its amazing ability you need to have games running in SLI mode. For the life of me I can't find the option to turn it on and my new card is not running the game was well as I would have liked. Any ideas?

    Right Clicking on the desktop should bring up an option for you graphics control panel. Clicking on thats should bring up the options tab.

    There should be a Nvidia Control Panel available somewhere. As Pinch55 posted you should be able to right click on your desktop somewhere. There may be a program available in the start list.

    You should get a window like this;

    I presume you did install the drivers?

    Ok guys I have yet another problem. This game only runs at about 20 FPS with everything only on high (not Ultra). Now here's the annoying bit. A friend of mine has exactly the same PC and gets 60FPS with everything on Ultra. Can anybody explain that one to me?

    I hear it's something to do with getting the right nHancer profile. Also, I'm pretty sure ETW isn't recognising the 295 GTX's second GPU and so not taking advantage of the SLI mode. Suggestions please. Rep and hearty thanks to those who can help or even try

    The easiest way may be to ask your friend what they have done and compare notes. Are you also running nHancer? Can you get them to walk you through the options that they have taken?

    I guess one thing to do is follow some of the following 'good practices': http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=100384

    The next thing to do is to try and work out if you have any services that are running that your friend does not. You can use msconfig to see what is opened at startup. Always check to see what a service is (maybe using google) before stopping it. I've had some interesting results.....

    The low fps you are getting is because of the broken engine. I get above 30 fps but when i zoom to a unit it goes down to 5 although i set unit details to medium and no shadows
    hope this is fixed, if not then money back

    What graphics card are you using and what resolution are you playing the game at?

    I used the same settings as the guy, but apparently the results are random. I tried the official, but no joy. I mean Crysis 40 FPS maxed out, STALER Clear sky 70FPS maxed out and both are at a resolution of 1920x1200. ETW 15 FPS on any setting.

    Are they playing ETW and getting that fps?

    No, people who have a 295GTX seem to be suffering while the lucky few who have got it working are getting around 50-60FPS with everything maxed out.

    Start looking at the services that are running on each machine - use msconfig.

    I dont have a stellar card - 9500GS, its like a 8600GT. But i heard ppl with 8600GT playing above 30 fps zoomed in and out on everything ultra...thats the problem.
    not sure though if my card is a bottleneck, but i used to play crysis on very high(shaders, shadows on high) and 800*600 res every time above 30 fps.
