    Default Uber Strategy

i posted this on heaven games so i just thought all of you might want to know a way to get 100k gold in the first turn of any campaign.

Quoted from my post at heaven games:

anyone think they can figure out how i did this?

i was wondering if anyone else thought of this "strategy" so i'll post anything about my nation at this point to see if you can figure it out

    this is the first pic.

    [JPEG, (129.22 KB)]

i could have had this a bit earlier but did not realize it until 1705.

notice the year is only 1706

-50000 gold at the end of my turn.
    -8 allies.
    -11 protectorates.
    -9 trade partners.
-only the pirates and barbary states at war.

no i didnt just save my income every turn until now.
    no mods/tweaks/hacks
    just good ol' gameplay

see if you can figure it out!

    The real secret:

congrats to Smileyman007 for figuring it out

the secret is giving indefinite military access to other nations in exchange for 1k-2k gold, then you revoke the access, keeping the gold. then do it again and again until they run out of money or no longer want it.
then you move to the next nation and get more and more gold from each nation until your treasury is busting at the seams

100k gold in the first turn anyone?

what do you all think about this?

Just remember that AI your taking advantage of is the same one that will be driving you crazy with continuous offers of give me three of your best regions and 12k for these pissant islands and 2 miserable techs. Not to mention pay 10K for a trade agreement it revokes the next turn. Actually that makes me less inclined to turn my nose up at this gaming of the system like I usually would.

Congrats for coming up with that, although it rapes-murders the gameplay....

I think the end of our sufferings will only come with multiplayer campaign, play against human...

I fear CA agrees with you, so they are not even trying to fix this shameful AI

    hey man!

well done for coming up with this one! Real life often dishes up unexpected bonuses - most battles and wars are lost by stupidity not won through genius. If you can somehow 'get' the AI - then great!!! You may or may not use it. It is a matter of choice.

Of course, it would be better to come up with a strategy within the rules and the common sense.

Keep it up though! Ell done!

I think its a clever way to cheat the AI after it cheats you, like if you weren't aware of the "tribute lasts forever" bug and ended up paying Genoa 20k a turn...

Why don't we make it easier?
Make a quick save, load a hex editor, find your money value and change it to FF FF FF FF.

    Quicker and more "fun", no?

Clearly exploiting a bug... Not necessarily cheating but not playing it as it was intended obviously either.

Wow, I figured this out in my first campaign... but who wants to do this? Where is the fun in gradually building your empire if you've got money to burn? Cheats and tricks take the fun out of gameplay. I hope the diplomacy is fixed in one of the up and coming patches.

Why should they fix it, Razor? If you want to ruin the game for yourself, why should CA stop you?

I cannot imagine that CA intended it to work like this. Well atleast you can't use it forever, but after 2-3 times the AI (and any other human player) would think: well this, I ain't gonna fall for it again...
And btw, why would Russia for example be interested in military access if you're playing Spain? I haven't checked this out myself, but if Russia would accept your offer just like any other no matter what then I'd certainly wish for a little tweaking here and there to make it more logical.

It's basically just Empire's version of Medieval's "Merchant Forts". A cheap unintended way to grab cash.

Tbh, I think the problem is that the whole "Trustworthiness" factor from Medieval has been scrapped. Surely if you revoked Military access to factions constantly, no-one would want to deal with you, but it just has no negative consequences whatsoever.

seriously, just use a money trainer or whatever. I don't see what's the fun in exploiting a game bug. one of the fun challanges is expanding your empire's wealth by conquest, development, trade, and diplomacy that actually makes sense.
