    Default Irish ostermen skins, shields and spearmen download 5/27

    Irish units

    From what I know, ostermen were vikings settled in Ireland. Therefore I used an assortment of viking shield patterns

    Nice. If you can, you should lessen the green pyjama effect of some of the units too. I would love to see them a bit more Medieval looking.

    I don't like the green effect myself. Maybe more woodland colors, dark green, blacks and browns.


    Which shileds do people favor?
    I think maybe 3 variations of shields only, with upgraded units possibly getting a diff pattern shield.

    I'd love to see these units in mail or heavy leather, the cloaks just don't do them justice. I don't care for the red shields, maybe a combo of Irish and viking shields?

    how about capes? with woodish green?

    And how about simple patterns for sheilds. at forst armour upgrade, u get an other.. and so on. At max armour uprgade, you get nicest sheilds....

    I think I will redo the red shields and use them for upgraded units only. I like both your ideas. What design would be best for an "irish" shield?

    I found this link witch shows some Irish coats of arms to get some ideas. If you click on the family names to the left, it brings up the family crest and a decent picture.

    Sweet, can't wait! I am holding off on my English invasion until they are done I can't thank you enough for this, these units have always really bothered me. Not to be pushy, but I love the plain wooden shields. Any easy way to get a shield pack of those for slav levies?(another pet peeve)

    are these merc slav levies you are talking about??
    I am also thinking of changing the upgraded spear units for the Irish.
