Default Native Archers won't appear for the British...

I've followed Plenom's(sp?) unit-adding guide to try and make Native Archer Auxiliaries available for the British and it just won't work.

I've followed all the instructions...and created a "native_american_archers_auxiliary_br" line for the required .tsv files.

I've also edited the area of recruitment tables....so the unit can be recruited.

But I also have something to ask. All that specifies what faction can recruit the Native Archer Aux seems to be the units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions file. However, when I look up the "native_american_archers_auxiliary" row, it only says "Crimean Khanate" = False.

So...judging by that one line, this means that only the Crimean Khanate can't recruit them...? Am I missing something here?

Yeah, I feel sorry for the Crimean Khanate, they can recruit hardly anything :*(
Have you edited the units_to_groupings_military_permissions? Also, are you exporting them as .tsv and then editing them or editing them from within the Pack file manager?

    Check;

    units_to_groupings_military_permissions_tables

and put an entry in for native archers - see if that works. Copy the one from the french and change name of group to great_britain. The more I check I think this controls what factions have access to generic units.
The British were completely beaten and the day was mine, but they did not know it and would not run.

In fact all you need to do to allow a faction to recruit a generic unit is to add their group id (great_britain_group france_group etc) to the:

    units_to_groupings_military_permissions_tables

So to add native archers to the British roster just add the line to the above table

    native_american_archers_auxiliary and great_britain_group

Be careful in copying another countries line as if you don't make sure the save takes place you'll get a duplicate line and the game will crash.

So if you want to change British Grenadiers from bearskins (ahistorical) to mitres then you remove the line saying:

    euro_grenadiers_bearskin and great_britain_group

    then add a line saying

    euro_grenadiers and great_britain_group

You could have both lines and be able to recruit either if you wanted.............

@Flobulon I've edited using the Pack Manager. No exporting.

@Tancredii Ok, thanks, I'll be testing that out on a fresh campaign...

To add archer to the British roster I made just this change. It allows brits to recruit the generic aux archer.
