Default Is the power of your country measured by military?

Because right now I have a really good military, the highest among the nations in prestige, and yet on the diplomacy screen it says that my power is Feeble.

I think the prestige rating applies primarily to what you've researched and your military buildings though I'm not sure. A lot of the high tier military buildings add to national prestige, as do the techs

I have the feeling the power rating takes into account your standing armies, possibly your navy. All I know is I've noticed this change from 'weak' to 'strong' when I'm at war since I try to reduce the size of my army in peace time to save on upkeep. If I have a lot of stacks on the map that seems to influence the rating.

Recruit some units and I'm sure it will rise. Well, unless I'm wrong, of course.

It's dependent on the other factions I believe.

You might have a fair sized army, but some other faction probably has like 10 stacks hanging around, so everyone else is weak in comparison.
