Default Will you buy the next Total War at release?

Coming off my 1942 crash as Venice. I have now decided to go play Witcher which was another game that I stopped playing because of the condition it came out. I have read many of the threads that talk about the CTDs, how hard it must be to be a programmer with CA and reading all of the hits to the ego by everyone on the forums. I had a thought that these programmers (I'm guessing multiple, working on multiple segments, working in different geopgraphies and very few seeing the end to end game located. May need you guys to educate me on this) should really consider bringing up to management that if they keep producing products like this orders will slow down for the next release. I have been a Total War fan since the Shogun days. I will probably buy the next one but I will not do it until it has been out for several months and if it takes a year to fix Empire I probably will wait until the prices drop and the next game is playable.

To get to the point, How many of you are in the same situation?

I'll probably wait at least a week for the price on Steam to come down (assuming the next is released on Steam) and keep tabs on these forums to see what sort of issues its experiencing to protect me from the stress of playing something bug-addled.

Don't know. Depends what it is. If it's Rome then I will for sure. If it's Shogun then I'll never buy it.

Probably not. It may depend on which era the next game is based. I would be hard pressed to pass up a Rome 2 for even a few days.

If it's an ancient total war game, then yeah i'll buy it, if it isn't then I probably won't even buy it all together.

No joke, it would take some restraint and if they fix Empire it would make it even harder. On release however I'm just not sure if I can handle all of these CTD again.

    You mean, in 2024?
I don't know if I'm still interested in computergames by that time

I'd try to save myself some frustration and wait a couple months until the worst issues are patched out.

But Rome 2... hmm, I don't think I could resist.

We'll I'm sure not pre-ordering it if thats what you're asking, I have learned from my past experience that, even with a free version of Rome, paying $50+ for a game that has not been guarenteed to work (and doesn't totally) is NOT a good idea.

I still like the game, but I wouldn't pay the $50 if I had a chance. More like $20 or $30 at the most.
