I think it's more appropriate than 4 because most armies of this era made camp during the harshest parts of winter.

Three is better -- two summer turns and one winter, so fewer winter battles.

1762- already conquered all india and 90% of europe on H/H so why would you need to have 3 or 4 turns per year?

Sounds like you need to think about playing a mod instead making expansion a lot harder...

i intend to but really want to wait to see wot CA do in gameplay patches before i do because once i use mods i rarely go back to vanilla, until then theres always VH/VH hehe

I prefer the 3 turns per year as I cannot stand winter battles. I will often avoid a battle during the winter turn just to get the green lush battleground. Looks so much better. At least this was your odds are 66% vs 50%.
