Minimizing the game

I like to go in and out of the game all the time, but the Alt+Tab function to minimize the game didn't work since the beginning; supposedly it was one of the fixes of the first patch but at least for me it usually still doesn't work.

I have found however that it works fine if you have some other program open in the background (for example Internet Explorer so you can come to the forum while playing!).

I have also found that Ctrl+Alt+Del will always minimize the game. Of course then you have to close the task manager but that is a minor hassle.

I thought I would share these workarounds in case someone finds them useful.

I think in the graphics menu you can choose to play in a window. Does this help?

It probably helps the problem with minimizing, but playing in a window sucks.

I was able to minimize once I moved to a window on my desktop. Alt-tabbing out of full screen always worked on my laptop.. It's weird.

Don't play in windowed mode, it diverts some of your video memory to rendering the desktop and not the game.

As for minimizing, it seem as if you can only alt/tab with another window already open, but I've had good luck with Ctrl/shift/esc (it opens the task manager, good for Vista since ctrl/alt/delete brings up a whole different menu)

Shift+tab then click web, then you got internet right in your game!

I put mozilla Fire fox in the my games list on Steam, so now I can talk to friends and browse the web with shift+tab, all from the web!How cool is that?
