I'm in the following situation: when the game first got out, I had no crashes at all. Which was cool, considering that my system is barely within the min specs.
After the first or second patch, mixups with sound started. After a couple more, I started having (relatively rare) crashes.
After the last patch, I can't start a new grand campaign. Apparently I can load my saved campaign, and play custom battles, but not start a new one.![]()
This is officially nasty. (I-should-give-up-videogames-and-go-out-more nasty). I don't think I have to explain why I would like to be able to start a new GC.
My first thought was to "uninstall" the last patch. I have the steam version however (now we know how great that was), and that doesn't seem to be an option. I even uninstalled the whole game and reinstalled it, but you either do the whole thing or not (if you tick off the "update automatically" the download stops).
I remember reading someplace the someone had backup-ed some files, which effectively allowed him to "uninstall" the patch. Unfortunately, I haven't done that before the patches (and I wouldn't know which files these are anyway).
So, the question is, does anyone have any advice/links on possible ways to revert to the state before the last patch (or ideally before any patch) for the steam version of the game?
Please? Anyone?... I'm dying here...
Edit: I wasn't using any mods at all.
