    Default Unit done - not into game - I am done!

    Well, I tried nearly the entire weekend to get my half-baked unit model into game, all my attempts failed miserably. Its my first unit made so far...

    As you can see it looks ok, it has the right size, bones are assigned, groups commented, blablabla.

    I have the textures in texture format and the model in mesh. I have set up a new mod which works.
    I have access to the modeldb and edu.

    It is the first entry in the modeldb, and I increased the archive from 701 to 702.
    Everything done according to alletuns tome and some tuts.
    I am unable to create any sprites as well.

    I am slightly desperated at the moment due to the fact I nearly tried everthing I could find.
    It´s just about putting that thing into game, I guess it´s daily routine for some of you artifexes. So any help is highly appriciated.

    Don't put the model at the beginning of the battle_models.modelsdb. Put it at the end. Also, can you set your log to trace and post it here?

    I already tried it by putting it at the end - doesn´t make a difference. Never heard log to trace, do you mean the sys log in M2 root folder?

    Yeah. In your medieval2.preference.cfg file, type this at the end.

    [log]
    ## log potentially critical errors for debugging
    to = logs/system.log.txt
    level = * trace

    Don't worry we'll figure this out for you. Put the log to trace, and very importantly run your .modeldb through the syntax checker.

    I highly appricate all of your effort but I don´t know what you mean sigone, everything is already posted. There is a link to download the log - too big to be posted, and I run the checker with no error occuring (according to the text file created) - so done successfully.
    I can start my mod, costum battle, choosing france - but nothing new.

    The link is invalid.

    Your line count numbers are incorrect.

    Examples:

    This should be more like it. You need to read a tutorial on the models.db to tackle this sort of thing...

    If you ran your modeldb through the syntax checker these problems would've been easily seen...

    I changed my modeldb entry according to Eothese then run the syntax checker - no error. With my prior modeldb the checker hadn´t even started.

    You are not being very responsive with your errors.

    Is the syntax checker completing successfully (i.e. are you seeing a notepad screen with the resulting statistics)?

    What is the error log if you set it to trace?

    Open your mods .cfg and put this info in at the top of the file, you should be able to copy and paste from here.

    Your log is not too big to post here, simply copy and paste from the log, and put it inside spoiler tags because when set to trace it will be a lot bigger;

    Paste in here, without the spaces between the symbols and letters. Or use the radioactive symbol when going advanced.

    Check your .db entry is correctly set out, I did make an error myself as spotted by Surgeon, so I apologise. Pay attention to spaces, especialy at the end of lines, compare existing entry's to be sure. Again you should be able to copy and paste from here. This is the way I would always set out a new entry, but we all have our own preferences. Make the entry at the bottom of the .db file.

    In your EDU, comment out the lines stat_pri_ex and stat_sec_ex with a ; at the begining of the line.

    Provide us with as much info as possible, if you say you can choose France in Custom battle, but the unit just doesn't show, it may be your problem doesn't lie with your model.
    Are you using a mod folder?
    Have you made other changes to the game successfully?
    A serious error in the .db would cause a crash at the splash screen, a misplaced file would cause a crash at the battle loading screen...
