    Default unit sizes for balance?

historically in armies of the 18th century grenadiers and light infantry each formed 1 company out of every regiment.do you thing making grenadiers and light units (rifles included) into a full strength unit, but making the cost increased? grenadiers double cost 2 turn recruit time? I'm not asking for a mod just asking if any one else thinks this would make the game better?

EDIT: also making light units far weaker in melee combat.

if grenadiers are too large, the AI kinda up and take too long to throw bomb. even at it current size, i use them in attack column to improve their movement. i don't mind the light infantry be bigger if their stat is lower so line infantry will beat them easy still to maintain the "line infantry as core fighting force".

ok try this. how about splitting grenadier companies due to bad AI. my point was the idea of having elite assault troops that could fight on their own. ( I always find that i have to send two grenadier squads or accompany one with line infantry unit). this would allow for the "mob of the regiment's biggest men" concept to be used better. does any one else find that grenadier (when not just doing a grenade throwing mission) need too much fire support compered to other unit. also grenades had taken a sharp decline in use by the early to mid 1700's.

well to me it seems that the very reason that the grenadiers are so small are because of the grenades? a few well placed throw and you have pretty much decimated a 120 force of line infantry, and well if they double the cost and turn to recruit i doubt anyone would use them, i'd personally just get 2 more units of line infantry..
