Conquer my Protectorates!

I have a question,has anyone ever conquered Louisiana, New Spain or even the Thirteen Colonies instead of doing the missions? Most of the time the Natives were too strong, but the Protectorates aren't, so I was thinking if there's any problem if I conquered them instead.

you know i never thought about it, but i suppose you so could, but i would feel like a bit of a dick though lol

Not really, i think you get like -20 for breaking an alliance, but everyone will hate you anyways after you conquer 10 or 20 territories.

besides, you can get a cool Steam achievement if you stab 5 allies in the back! Isn't that worth it, on it self??

but you can also get an achievement when you finished missions

So you can conquer 10 or so regions of your protectorate, lose respect around the world, kill a loyal ally. OR you could grow some balls and conquer 3 (just 3) enemy provinces, not lose your reputation, and actually gain control of 13 provinces.
