Are you kidding? The best music wasn't RTW. It was most certainly MTW. Man, the music for the Arabs and the Vikings ( well, everyone in fact) was just epic. Those were the days.

yeah i agree cotton, the newer games graphics beats mtw, but just the feel, and the gameplay was (in my eyes atleast) best in medieval, ive never had so much fun as the countless hours i spent on trying to dominate everyone with byzzies

Yeah I loved those early flamethrowers. I still love M2TW and play it all the time.

Graphics: Empire, but I do like M2TW (better campaign map in some ways, no clones, and is more gritty than Empire),

Overall (after patches and mods): M2TW

For me my overall pick will not change after patches and mods are released for Empire, but that is a personal choice (lack of interest in time period).

My favourite game would be M2TW. I wish Empire was as awesome... I really do hope that CA patch it well. Even with mods like Darthmod, the experience just lacks that amazing feel of M2TW.

my graphics are on ultra and except for naval battles i just really dont find the graphics on ETW to be significantly better than M2TW


sorry maybe im biased but ETW is about as fun as a root canal .. i havent even played it in 2 weeks... the feel of ETW is very bland and unfun... they took out a lot of good features from M2TW.

For me the best gae was the first one, Shogun: Total War. Why? Because it was new and exciting. I'm not saying the other games were not fun, I have them all, just that nothing ever quite captures the coolness of your first time.

Wow, I thought MTW2 was pretty bad in fact, maybe its because I hate the time period. Everything seemed the same to me, factions only had a couple different units. Rome was by far the best, the most diverse, the best time period, and it was just absolutely amazing at the time. Empire is pretty good as well, I personally have only gotten 1 CTD so I don't have to put up with that which could be why I don't hate it, but like all the TW games, they are horribly bugged when released and then patches fix things.

Personally I just think people say MTW2 was the best (when if you go on Medieval forums people are complaining about how bad the game was) because the grass is always greener on the other side. The previous game is just always better when a new one is released. As for graphics, I would say that Empire and Med are about the same, but they have different "style" of graphics, Med being that very shiny "Call of Duty" like graphics. (sorry about rant, if it's off topic feel free to take it down)

Wait, M2TW is lacking units? Then what do you think about barely any in EmpireTW?

I agree with Cottontail, music in MTW was epic.

The European credits music was fantastic, I used to make a job of actually completing the campaign just to hear it, that and the deployment music

Setting = Rome & Kingdoms
Music = Rome & Medieval

M2TW was a real disappointment for me.
