ROP Rulz

hi..these days i only play Chivalry and Viking Invasion 2..but last night i downloaded and installed ROP, just to give it a try, having heard only good things about it...and also that it has it's own modfolder.....i played some custom battles and..I WAS AMAZED!!..i love this mod soo much...the battles are just beautiful..i will start a campaign as soon as i have the time..thanks guys!

It is indeed wonderful.

My humble recommendation is to try the Macedonian campaign. One of my favorite three campaigns in any game.

(other two being Ptolemaics and Sertoriani in 77BC)

Out of curiosity, what makes the Macedonian campaign so good ?
Want to start a new campaign, but don´t know which faction (haven´t played Macedon and Egypt so far)

The thing that makes the Macedonian campaign so interesting is the way you have to fight your battles.

You have excellent units, to be sure. The Xipherai are powerful and skilled -- but only in certain situations. You can't engage the Hellenes in a full-stack battle and just throw your troops at them; you have to disrupt their phalanxes with javelins of some sort and then charge your swordsmen into the gaps in the formations. Quite fun.

ROP is indeed an excellent mod. If I could only keep a certain number of them on my comp to play, ROP would definitely be one of them.

I played many mods, and now consider that ROP is most historically accurate mod for RTW (as IBFD and Arturian for BI). ROP has little types of unit but all correct. Great mod!
