Preferences file

Where the preference text file is located? I just can't find it. I remember it was in the main folder where .exe file was located but it is not there.

My folder is different but it should go in
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\Total War\RTW\ preferences\ preferences.txt

Thank you! I looked that file everywhere yesterday and now it was appeared there it was supposed to be, strange.

That's the Vista place if you install to the 'c:\program files (x86)' folder. If you install to another folder (or use Windows XP) then there is a 'preferences' folder inside your game folder.

The file (and maybe folder) will only be created after you launch the game for the first time.

Are you sure? I installed this mod few days ago and I have playing it since, but I still can not see the preferences folder and file and thus cannot put autosave off or remove those stupid green triangles. I tried to copypaste preferences folder from other mod but it still not have any effect. Did I miss something...?

Are you using Vista? Where did you install the game? What have you done with UAC?

It should explain about the 'virtual store'.

It could be that it's a hidden folder (the preferences one).
