    Default Recommended system requirements

i recently purchased empire total war but my system cant hack it. it installed fine but when i loaded it the starting demo was frame jumping and the first battle i fought took bout 10 mins to load and was completely unplayable. currently my system has:

    AMD Althlon(tm) 64 *2 Dual core processor 4400+ (2cpu's), ~ 2.3hz
    1022MB RAM
Win Vista Home premium (6.0, build 6000)
NIVIDA Geforece 8300 GS (approx. total memory 368MB)

im pretty sure my graphics cards alryt and it my RAM and processor that’s letting me down. Been looking online and wondering if a 3.2hz single cpu processor and an extra 1000RAM will do the trick. I was hoping to not be running at the complete minimum potential for the game, but unfortunately dont have the funds to reli spend over about £350. Any recommendations??

With Vista you will need 2 Gigs of Ram.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

personally I think your Processor is fine, I can run the game with a 1.6GHz single core after all. You REALLY need to upgrade that RAM, and a new graphics card would help too.

    What he said

9400 is a waste of money.. one budget card to another basically.

Go with what they have said, 9800/9600 or 4850/4870. What res are you playing at?

i think that is a understatement, that graphics card is NOT meant for playing games, upgrade your graphics card and youll be able to play it.

Also DO NOT buy anything below a 8600gt or you will not play the game, i would reccommend getting a 8800 gts 320mb, you can pick them up very cheap nowadays, i know someone who got one for £60.

I'm playing quite well with a 7900 GS GPU. In fact I haven't had most of the issues a lot of people have been reporting. I think the RAM is his biggest problem.

I play the game (albeit on Medium-only settings) on a 256MB 6800GT. I certainly wouldn't suggest it, but the game will run fine.

Your processor seems ok. I would guess its your ram and graphics card thats letting you down. I think you should get an 8800gt and a couple more gigs of ram because of your operating system.

9400 is ok...but you could do better. With your budget a 9800gt would be a really good card to get. Adding 1gb of ram should help you out a lot too.

You certainly need 1 GB more of RAM, and that 1 GB will help a LOT on making EVERY part of your computer run faster. And no, a 9400 won't cut it. You need to be ready to spend at least $100 on a graphics card. I recommend:

    or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130435 if you absolutely want Nvidia.

I run an ATI 4850 and can max out the game easily.

I play on a lap top. Duel core 1.66 ghz and 2 gigs ram and no video card except the silly integrated garbage. You'll be fine if you upgrade your ram.

ALSO, get a ReadyBoost compatible USB key. It gave me a pretty decent speed boost. Well worth the 20$.

Ati 4850 or 9800 GTX are almost equal in performence. Ati 4870 is better. Your processor can handle the game. Just add an extra gig of RAM.

I reently bought a new pc. sadly i know very little about specs. I know it's quite high end, cos i need it for some software i've just bought. I haven't played a total war game since rome, but im seriously thinking bout buying this one. My PC has the following: (so if someone could tell me if my pc will support it, that'd be great! Cos most of the below is a different language to me.)

    Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Processor Q9400 (2.66GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB L2 cache)

    Genuine Windows Vista® Ultimate SP1 - English

    3072MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 Dual Channel [2x1024+2x512]

Hard Drive 1 TB Serial ATA non Raid (7200 Rpm)

    Single 1GB DDR3 nVidia® GeForce™ GTX285 graphics card

That's a very good PC, Jay. It should easily run Empire on max settings.

You can pick one up very cheap at Tiger Direct .....around $145.00...,,,and you can prob find one cheaper if you search.
