    Default Misc. Errors

    Major error with Large Barbarian (Nomad?) Settlement Stone Walls. When destroyed, towers (and I assume the rest of the walls) change model and texture to that of an Eastern-style fortification. See here (and yes, they did break down their own towers for me...):

    Oh, a problem I just remembered; The Sarmatians can't build boats ANYWHERE. Not in the Caspian Sea, not in the Black Sea, not even in the magnificent cities of Greece with their massive ports. The scroll says "Enables recruitment of Boats & Large Boats", but they do not appear in the Recruitment scrolls of any city I have.

    And another: I have a Foundry (+2 to Armor + Weapons) and an Arms Dealer in a city (which gives +1 Armor + Weapons). Together, they should have +3 Armor and Weapons, but anything I recruit only has +2. The "+1 Experience" of the Arms Dealer DOES show up in the units I recruit - only the armor and weapons upgrades don't.

    I don't think IE, +2 Armor in foundry and arms dealer +1 adds up to +3 as you may think (2+1 equals not 3 in this case..).
    Either one of the buildings must have +3 in bonus in to make those level three armors.

    I know why they didn't change it...because they used all the 'eastern wall' .CAS files for damage. If you change THEM, then you change the eastern walls as well.....but maybe there's a way to trick them.

    (And no, it isn't 'descr_building_battle.txt'....already tried that.)

    Hmm, then can we create new .cas with EB towers? Do we have permission for that?
    I can do that, but I´m not sure how to animate them - never worked on animations.

    Have a problem with saving. Tried with many factions, always same... (Autosave is false)

    Praetorian, I'm pretty sure that's the script. Are all of these new campaigns (ie, you started a campaign with one faction, quit it, then started another one)?

    I started with Rome, Sparta, etc... its always same...

    Close RS2 completely, then launch it again. Check to see if the save/load buttons are grayed out in the first campaign you start.

    Still not working. I tried "run as admin" (its vistax64 and sometimes crap happens). I even shut down UAC completely, still nothing.

    Is this the first time you go into the Campaign and start one, or a second and third try without restarting RTW? If you go into a campaign...play a bit, then go into another one without exiting RTW, this is what happens.

    There is no solution. Just exit RTW and go back in again.

    Did a new install of everything on new computer, copied saves over and was running from 552 just to check things out and went up to 554 and saved. During the end turn part way through it crashes to desktop..no error. Checked pathway again in shortcut, all appears fine. Went back in and loaded 554, did simple move - saved- end turn - all went fine. Did move, saved, hit end turn, part way through - crash - no message. Back in again, noticed music was playing shut music off - made simple move -saved - end turn - loaded to next session. Did move - saved - end turn - part way through it crashes - no message. Reload - last save - and music is playing again. Hmmmm.

    Thoughts:
    Music keeps returning, even though disabled.
    My characters when moved on campaign map are lightning quick. Is there a way to slow that down?


    EDIT: May 2/09
    Reloaded a clean RTW + B8 put in saves from 552 and moved forward, killed music. At 558 now and no CTD's, will check the music scenario again.

    Have you tried hitting the Spacebar ? I'm sorry but I don't know a solution for the other problems

    "Follow AI movements" - it's in the settings

    If you want to slow down your game leave CAMPAIGN_MAP_CAMERA as FOLLOW_AI_FACTIONS otherwise change it to SKIP_AI_FACTIONS (in preferences.txt). It's also an option at the start of a game (I think).

    As Telsa has posted it's a feature of TW games that if you press the spacebar it will speed up the movement of characters on the campaign map. They just go very jerky. It does speed up wait time.

    Thanks guys, but the space bar thing I'm aware of as well as the 'skip or follow AI ' which you can do in game...press escape and do video, audio etc. What I meant was moving an army or agent from A to B is just lighting quick so I was wondering if the "CAMPAIGN_MAP_GAME_SPEED:99" in the preferences file could be lowered to say '80' and if that would slow down the movement. I will try that and then report back.
