Epic fail at installing this

Right off the bat lemme just say that this is just as much my fault as it is a misunderstanding of Rio's instructions: I can tell that English isn't his first language (guessing French or Spanish, no idea why )but even so, dozens of others have got by with the instructions fine, leaving me with the conclusion that I'm simply a moron, as I still don't understand how to properly install it. Special me

So, the things I don't understand....

-does this mod need the old IB to work, or can I just download and install BRG II?
-what's the mod switcher? I have no idea whether it's necessary to play or just to allow other mods to be played over it

I know it seems odd, but I'm just stumped at what I actually need to do! Thanks a lot and once again, no offence intended Rio, I'm just not the brightest guy

So sorry Aenima. You are not a moron, and I do understand how it can seem so complicate, but I'm not sure how to write the instructions more clearer in the Download section:

RIO'S IBFD BRG II EXPANSION Mod Switcher:
INSTALLER
RIOS_IBFD_BRG_II_EXPANSION.exe (File Front)

RIO'S IBFD BRG II EXPANSION Mod Switcher:
Non Installer

1- clean 1.6 bi. installation
2- Within the rtw folder copy the bi and change the copied bi folder to rio
3- installer- Install RIO'S IBFD BRG II EXPANSION

-A problem can arise if you installed the game differently then the installer is set up. The reason is that the start up icon is set up to launch from the same path directory as it was installed

Thanks Rio, I've installed it but whenever I try to play the actual mod it loads the loading screen (white Triumph pillar screen) and then just does a CTD. I copied the BI folder and renamed it like you said, dragged the new Rio folder into it, but still this. Any ideas what to do now? Thanks man

Ok Aenima I think I see the prob..
After you make a copy of the bi folder, and then change the new copied bi folders name to rio, all you have to do now is install the Rio expansion mod. The Rio mod installer will install the necessary files into your rio folder

Thanks mate, got it working! Just a bit confused though- now the opening screen is a group of Legionaries standing around a banner, as opposed to the Triumph pillar. Have I installed the old version by accident?

That sounds like the IBRR 7.3 Mod splash screen or possibly an old Rio spashscreen. The splash screen would say either IBRR or It would say Rio on it....thats odd
If you downloaded it from one of the above sites I recently put in this thread it is the newest version.
Can you tell me what is the short cut launcher's start up? the directory..for example: "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -mod:rio
