So they should stay home and not protest Ludicrous amounts of government spending amid a global recession? lets break it down:

2007 about a 170Billion dollar US budget deficit

Prior to TARP we had a 454 Billion dollar deficit

After TARP bill 1.3 trillion dollar deficit(which included some of Obamas stimulus).

Obamas "stimulus" is raising this to even more ludicrous levels on top of being loaded with pork.

If one is intelligent, you realize this has to get paid back. If anyone thinks this can be done simply by overtaxing the rich, you are on crack. Once 2010 gets here some people are going to be getting a rude awakening when all your monies are belong to uncle sam.

I'm talking about the ridiculousness of the "tea parties" themselves. Why can't they find a better way to protest?

Its symbolic of the oppressive taxation and lack of representation the people received in the 18th century. Its actually very appropriate imo.

how how are they "oppressively" taxed now? Compared to the 70s this is nothing, they also have representation.

Well not when you consider that British rule was imposed upon Americans while the Obama government was freely elected by Americans.

The teaparty stunt is beyond stupid. The republicans need to accept that the majority of American voters voted for Obama and his policies.

Exactly, just like when the Democrats stood behind Bush when he was elected.
Granted the teaparty approach is silly and therefore I do not condemn the ObamaNewsNetworks for not reporting on it as Fixed News is.

The Boston Tea party was in protest of taxes that the colonists had no say in whatsoever. They were also in reaction to a government sponsored monopoly.

But it made sense, protesting by dropping tea bags into water nowadays doesn't make sense.

You only risk Tea-Bagging the Fish, which is kind of dirty and perverted.

Well, first I laughed because I hate fox news.

WEll, if only 2 are going to be at one on the day it actually has meaning, it loses it and becomes a way for them to waste their money.

I dont' see how this shows anything to anyone. A march on washington would be 1000000x's more effective.
I think the reason there isn't many saying they want to go is because they're afraid of losing support by doing it. How that would happen, I have no idea. Most people love anti-government spending.
DeMint said he's "encouraged" about the protests because "so many are ready to stand up and fight for freedom."
Wait... what? That makes me laugh.
Santelli's words "really struck a chord," said Guida. "I'm fed up with the spending and fiscal irresponsibility, particularly the 9,000 earmarks."
Now grab your torches and pitchforks!

Guida said he expects the movement to grow though Facebook and Twitter, and eventually the government will be forced to take notice
That pisses me off. Twitter and face book dont' seem the avenue for formal matters. They just seem like such a triviality, soemthing for teens and college students, not the leaders of a country.

And sorry all you retards, but why would the government take notice to a bunch of people drinking tea? The only time anything gets done is when the government has something to gain from it. Drinking wont' do anything, petitions even do very little. Riot, or rot.

Yeah, the ignorance knows no bounds. I guess the person who first suggested this idea failed 7th grade history.
