I've never seen that either. I've never seen Crushing either and I've won some pretty one sided battles.

Really? Never seen one of those. A Pyrric Victory is a victory that came at great cost. Fighting the ancient Romans king Pyrius of Eperius (or something like that) repeatedly won, but at such a great cost he was forced to eventually give up the war.
"Der Krieg ist eine bloße Fortsetzung der Politik mit anderen Mitteln.
(War is merely the continuation of politics by other means.)
A pyrrhic victory means you just barely won with terrible devastating losses you came so close to losing that it might as well have been a loss for the losses you suffered. its meaning comes from Pyrrhus barely winning against the Romans with terrible casualties:
So you only just won that game it seemsThe armies separated; and, it is said, Pyrrhus replied to one that gave him joy of his victory that one more such victory would utterly undo him. For he had lost a great part of the forces he brought with him, and almost all his particular friends and principal commanders; there were no others there to make recruits, and he found the confederates in Italy backward. On the other hand, as from a fountain continually flowing out of the city, the Roman camp was quickly and plentifully filled up with fresh men, not at all abating in courage for the loss they sustained, but even from their very anger gaining new force and resolution to go on with the war.![]()

Thanks communitymuch appreciated
I thought it had something to do with me being the Pirates xD 'pyr'![]()
all the end battle messages seems to be messed up (atleast for me) i had a battle where my army numbered around 1200 the enemy 1000, i won the battle with 400 losses (around 150 was cav who was chasing some routing units, which suddenly stopped routing, turned and gave my cav a volley without equal) anyway i killed off 950 or so and got a close victory..
That picture hes been edited, take a closer look.

I got my first Pyrric victory today. Land battle of Marathas v Cherokee. Using Imperial Splendor mod I had transported a full stack that contained, amongst the usual army makeup, about 8 units of 188 man Ghoorka squads. It was a pretty savage battle, and the Ghoorkas (only 5 def) took as many losses as they inflicted.
The end result was 1650 dead on my side, 1500 dead cherokee. The pyrric victory conditions may simply require you to have lost more men than your opponent.
Uh, no it hasn't.
I've gotten that before as well.
I've got that a few times. If you look at the language text .pack file you could see that there are many many victory and defeat types.
Wow, pretty good.
I've had some victories that I have thought in my head as being the definition of a Pyrrhic victory. Perhaps my stats didn't match up enough to warrant it.
I'll list them.
EDIT - If some one else could do this for me, it would be great, I don't have time.

I say this picture has seen a bit of the old editing in paint. Im sure of it, zoom in around the word and youll see large blocks. I do loads of paint pictures, I can tell. Why bother?
I've gotten this before. It's not edited.
Due to the huge bug known as battle outcome messages, I dont think its worth trying to figure out or analyze.
