about grass

Hey i got no problem playing the original RTW but with Rome medieval i had to lower my grass to low and sometimes disable it because my frame rate get so slow with grass being so packed together and their so tall. Is there a way to make the grass shorter and much scatteed, like for example
1 unit square of land and tehres like 1000 blade of grass packed together
what i want is in 1 unit of land i want mke the grass lesser and short. i hate fighting battles in a map with huge grasses that grow nearly to the soldier's chest.

Maybe there is like a realistic environment mod with short grass ?
i heard about "Prom's grass mod" but the links are dead. and probably wont work in Rome medieval mod.
