A way to get money without trade!

So I finally started to play as Prussia the other day and I read the strats for them here on the forum and I tried to execute that strategy and it went fine until I was completly bankrupt after my standing army eaten up all my money and left me with a income of about 1k per turn. I couldnt expand my army more if I couldnt get more money to support it.

First I tried to open some trade routes to different countries from my trade port but I couldnt find any country that wanted to trade with me or wasnt a single province retard. I got like 800g from that ^^. So what to do? Sweden came to my rescue!

They declared war on me and since I had Military acess through Courland I send a Full stack up to estonia and conquered that province. But offcourse Sweden sendt an army against me and I saw no future in holding that province since I didnt have any other province bordering it. Then I came up with my plan! If I conquered Poland in the future I would still have a 2 frontal war on my ass in the future when I should conquer west and south europe since Russia would then attack me from the east. How to avoid this and profit from it?

Conquer Poland and sell it to my ally Britain! So I sold first Estonia to Britain for about 25000g then Sweden stopped attacking me and wanted to make peace since they have been attacked by the rest of the europe. I desclined and sendt a single boat with some troops to Norway wich was occupied by Sweden. I took the province and sold it to England for about 30k. I drew my troops out to the boat again. and sweden took back norway from England since they had not been able to raise any troops there yet. I did the same all over again and earned another 30k. I did about 3 turns until Britain signed peace with the Swedes.

After conquering Poland I sold the whole country to britain for about 150k. Whit my east front sequered and about 300k in founds I raised a gigantic standing army and marshed on Austria and the rest of the german states! The only problem is that when I have conquered the whole of western europe I have to take on the english but that will be another chapter =)

I did the same strategy when i was playing as swedish. After a few turns I suprised that i've gone bankrupt . I made a trade agreement with every possible nation after bankrupt, but it didn't help. I sold Finland, St.Peterspurgh and Estonia to The Ottoman Empire for 20k gold and in return i got miliatry alliance and a trade agreement. After that I sent full stacks to Poland and Russia. I conquered whole Poland-Liethuanian Empire, Moscov and two other russian regions. After this area expansion i had 11k incomes with my semi big army . With these huge incomes i presented 3 state gifts to russia, so I would have time to conquer The Western Europe.

This all took about 24 in game years.


By the way. I was suprised about your regions price because it is simply too big!!!! I never knew that United Kingdom never had that much incomes in this campaign. I've never sold any regions over 12k gold in this game because no factions agreed with my terms over 12k of gold. I just tought that they were too poor to give more than 12k, but now i know that i was wrong.

How can you sell your home country Finland to the turks??? Im a swede myself so I wouldnt have any problem with it though ^^. Anyone else felt bad about waging war against you real home country? =)

And yes the english buys stuff for insane amounts of money! I often start the bidding on 50k for a province and work my way down until they accept, that way I know that they payed as mutch as I could squeezed out of them. Selling provinces with repaired buildings also generate more money than provinces with damaged ones!

I have no promblems to attack or sell my home region Finland to the turks, because it's only a game and it was in swedish control in those times . If it was under Finlands control, I wouldnt sell or attack that region.

Ps. I tried to sell these regions to The United Kingdom, but the turks agreed to pay more in early part of the game .

Yeah I know finland was under swedish rule until the russians invaded in the beginning of the 19th century....Damn that inbreed swine that ruled sweden back then (Gustav IV Adolf) couldnt defend one of worlds strongest fortifications for more than 2 weeks until the garrison gave up, the swedish garrison had never seen war before so they was just afraid of the ugly russians =)!

My country was not in existance at this time, so i never have to decide wheather or not to attack it. Got to love being Australian lol

Yeah I did this once, but I traded for other regions, not money. I wanted the islands in the Carribean, but was allied to Britain, who had 2 islands. So I waited until the Cherokee took Florida, then I took Florida, and traded it to the Brits for Jamaica. The Cherokee took it again, I took it back and traded it for the Virgin Islands. Next time I sold it to France for the Windward Islands.

After that I felt bad for exploiting the AI, and any time I selll a province to an ally, I defend it with my own troops until they get some there.

Is there a way to see how much cash another country has to spend? I never know how much I can request/demand. I would never think of asking for 10s of thousands as I never have anywhere close to that myself.

A look at the statistics page will give you an idea of the power of their ecconnomy, but not their cash on hand.if yourve got the time and can be bothered, just ask alot to begin with and slowly bring it down to somethign that they can accept
