Default A message to Obama haters

So, it's been about ten weeks now since Obama took office. The US right wing is consumed by anger and by rage. Fox News is running wild. Tyranny is coming, now is the time for citizens to be patriotic and dismiss the democratically elected usurper.

I've been looking at this whole show for a while now and to be honest, as a third party spectator, it's getting rather ridiculous. Jon Stewart agrees.

    http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/in...knophobia-obey

Now, I realise that as avid Anti-Obamists, you will have very little reason to watch Jon Stewarts show and I -also- realise that I often refer to Jon Stewart in these sort of discussions, but what I want to achieve in this thread is really something different from what most Obama threads are about. I'm not here to discuss policy, I'm not here to discuss the US two party system. I'm certainly not here to discuss the NWO.

What I am here for is to carry across a message:

    CALM THE DOWN.

Do yourself a favor and click the little link above. It's only a five minute video, might teach you a few things. Might place a few things into perspective for you. The Obama hating crowd is going insane and to be honest, some of the stuff on Fox News is just plain inciting of hatred.

Disagreeing with politicians is fine, but this stuff is just getting obsessive.

I can assume that an average person with an Obama man-crush does not watch Fox New, and is only informed by the 15 second heavily edited clips provided by the Daily Show.

Bias is bias. You're better off watching all sources of information and form your own rational opinion.

True, but don't you think it's hypocritical that the people who then supported Bush carried forth the argument that people should support their president even when they disagree, only to now go ape over Obama themselves?

I don't have an Obama man crush o_O

Why is it either/or? Why not just accept the fact that he's -just- a politician and if you disagree with him that's fine but that doesn't mean he's going to bring about the freaking apocalypse.

Doesn't anyone think that this active inciting of hatred towards the American president is... very unpatriotic? People like Sean Hannity should be taken to court IMO. The way he speaks, the way he actively tries to make people hate Obama as much as possible, that's a threat to national stability.

EDIT: Additionally, Stewart is not that biased. Throughout the show, ever since february, he has called Obama out on things several times. He's actually said himself that some of the concepts Obama ran on, now appear to be discarded in favour of something else. No, I don't think Stewart is biased at all, mostly because he stands nothing to gain from painting Obama in a constant positive light.

Oh, I know. I watch the show religiously along with the Colbert Report. When I want to watch the news, I'll flip through CNN, BBC (the best in my opinion), Fox, and less rarely MSNBC. Taken all together I form my opinion.

If one becomes President of the United States, one must expect a certain level of dissatisfied media coverage. With a two-party system, the President did not receive the votes from a sizable minority, and most of those voters will never be convinced otherwise of the President's merits.

People are allowed to hate the President, and they are allowed to voice their hatred on the airwaves. It should always be that way.

I've been watching stewart since he started on the daily show..what 10 years now? I used to think that he was pretty neutral, as he would always say, I just report on whats funny. Unfortunately he a very left wing liberal. Ever since Obama got into office he has become very bias. He throws obama soft balls with very little critique while spending entire shows dedicated to mocking the republicans. Steward is as much of an obama worshipper as you get. Every time obama does something retarded, he spends the entire time mocking republican reaction instead of covering what obama or the democrats did. He is about as unbiased as fox news, the network he constantly mocks for being biased.

But at least I giggle when I watch his show. I'll give him that one.

yea I still watch it for laughs even though I am a conservative...gasp. But I can recognize his bias from a mile away, he is not subtle about it at all.

The fact that Limbaugh is becoming the lead voice of the Republicans is very disturbing. If anything he is a Traitor. At least McCain's daughter is capable of carry the torch of reason for the Republicans and hopefully the sensible Republicans will rather listen to her than that old self-centered hateful fool. He seriously wants American to fail, just think about that for a moment before calling in a patriot...

Only the left is placing the manel of leadership on the radio personality. A straw man set up if I ever saw one.

I am quite certain that the Republican leadership will sort things out and whether they emerge with a plan or not will not be up to Limbaugh.

btw -- perhaps you would do better to not refer to the man as an "old self-centered hateful fool" if you want to be taken as a sensible person supporting Obama. Just a thought.

But Viking Prince, not even all conservatives will listen to Rush Limbaugh, much less anyone outside of that mantle. I think his comment about Limbaugh is valid because not a very large group of people take him seriously. At least outside of the neoconservative movement.

I honestly don't think I have ever met a Republican that genuinely believes Rush is the voice of American Conservatism.

Edit: Does anybody remember when Limbaugh used to be funny? That use to be his big draw on the radio. Then at some point, he began to take himself way too seriously.

I think I do actually remember somewhere that he used to be more like a political comedian. But when my dad started listening to him (even when I was at the time still a Republican), I thought it was rather ridiculous.

John McCain's daughter? Rush Limbaugh? Sarah Palin?

Perhaps the Repubs' time would be better served by not trying to undermine the President (and therefore the country), but seeking out true leadership.
And a platform that appeals to more than just Bible beating white folks.

Oh no! Our dark alliance of white Christians and the GOP has been discovered! <Monacle falls into glass of Pinot Noir> Jeeves, prepare the world for nuclear annihilation before it is too late!

Seriously, you had me interested in your first point and a half, but the rest caused me to lose interest with your media-saavy, but intellectually unstimulating one-liners. One shouldn't drink a glass of fine shiraz when eating a Big Mac. And you shouldn't mix good points with garbage.

Its just another example of 'you're either with us or against us' politics. Arguments are nonexistent, its simply blaming 'the other one' for 'destroying the nation'.

You either have something sensible to say (putting forward a different proposal)

oh I have a proposal. put true fiscal conservatives in power and balance the ing govt budget for once. cut taxes, start drilling domestic oil reserves, remove socialst agendas (such as "green economy", "universal healthcare", "welfare", and other "fair" shite), reduce government spending.

how is that for a revolutionary idea ? if I was a dictator here in US, I would have turned around this economy in 6 months.
