Icon3 Requests for modding tools for ETW

At alpaca's suggestion I opened this thread which I will also point out to CA. Please post here/discuss your priorities about modding tools that CA could provide.
    Thanks,
    Garb.

A complete and detailed list of what each function in the db files are for.

    Well I'll start then

    My top three are:

    1. Give us info/a tool for the esf file format
    2. Add commands to the lua side of the game (the scripting API is very basic) allowing us to seriously interact with the game - here it's also important to have typecasts for the event contexts and know what's in them.
    3. Give us the sources for the luac files in the UI folder

No thing is everything. Every thing is nothing.

I would like a conversion from the font format used in M2 and Empire to the normal .ttf format, so that custom fonts can be utilized. Low priority.

I also strongly support alpaca's request for lua expansion.

Model converters and font converters are most important to me.

Don't hold your breath on any model converter...

When I started working on the models I asked the graphics lead about them; I got this reply:

I'm afraid that I cannot provide that information, as the data formats are proprietory.

Perhaps some of the original Lua files that are only found compiled in the release

It was the dumb way the pawns went off and slaughtered their fellow pawns while the kings lounged about doing nothing that always got to him; if only the pawns united, maybe talked the rooks around, the whole board could've been a republic in a dozen moves. -Thud!, Terry Pratchett
