    Icon5 Taking the plunge

    Hello,

I have recently started looking at mods, I play just the vanilla RTW but have found it limited in some ways. I haven't yet added any mod and I notice that RS 2.0 will be out soon so is it worth waiting for that to be released and starting with that or should I install 1.5 and give that a go?

I was going to ask whether I should go for a mod at all but that would be rather preaching to the choir in this forum wouldn't it

    Go for 1.5 first.

I don't know, but I think if you wait and jump straight to 2.0 it might be a little overwhelming if you're used to the unmodded game. I mean, when I 1st started with RS1.5a I was all like "Oh my god... OH my god.... What do I do?"

    cnaeus,
I do agree that it's mostly fun, however it's not always easy playing certain factions

But don't worry when RS2 comes out everyone will be in for a big suprise

Agreed. RS2 has been 'on its way' for quite some time so you'd be best off dipping your toe into the water with RS 1.5c.

Definitely you HAVE to start playing 1.5 before 2.0 comes out.. cause after the inital "everything is so new" phase you gonna love it!

I have it downloaded and installed and finally working (with a minor glitch, there is a thread in the tech forums about that). Will give it a go tonight. I had a quick look and I can say just having real governors instead of leaving generals in towns makes me happy.

    cnaeus,
All factions have been given the attention that they deserve in RS2.0. There are limits that are imposed by the RTW engine.
