    Default Heraldic ranks for non-catholics.

    Ahoihoi.

I have a little question about the heraldic ranks and military point system.

Since military points are given per banner and not per trait the non catholics are in a disadvantage. They have only 1 banner.

Now my question is; Is this intended? If so, it might be a bit to hard, I'm having trouble maxing out my military points. I never had a long enough war.

    cheers.

I will say nothing, and I'm saying it...

    3Banner factions
    • Catholic factions have regulated warefare, because of the pope.
    • Russians don't have regulated warfare, but they have the steppes, and there is not much going on out there compered to the west.
    1Banner factions
    • Byzantie + Muslim + factions dosn't have any regulator when it comes to war. They have many settlements, but not as many as the west.
That is ok, no problem. But here comes the funny part...

    • Jerusalem is a catholic faction. No regulation out in the middle east(except Acre). That means lots of military points.
    • I have not played Mongol i while, so...
    • Ortodox-factions: havn't played them in a while so is this a 3 or 1banner faction?

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

It's definitely a imperfect situation... It makes the one banner factions more of a challenge. These factions just need a higher % of generals to governors to compensate for now. Not an ideal solution but it works!

I always struggle with military points as well since I only ever go to war when I'm attacked (unless I'm fighting rebels, of course). I'm currently playing as the Desert Tribes and am having a real hard time getting enough military points to upgrade my castle. I have one Amir Al-Liva (= to Knight Banneret for Catholics), but he has no banner, so no military points.

I play as Norway. Raiding the the Isle factions in the west. Sacking and burning ever thing. My starting King is a real sea viking: Sailed out after conquering the Swedish rebels. From turn 10, he has contributaded with 60 military points, and are currently enjoying him self some where in the North sea... Yes a king, no banner, just his looting skills alone. All the other Haakonson's are enjoying a quite life in the Scandinavian pan.

Nice. I may have to try Norway one of these days. I've tried most of the factions at least once, but I have yet to play as either Norway or Denmark.
