Default The definitive poll - Are you Glad You Bought The Game?

Some users deal with game breaking bugs and some reportedly do not. Lets see where we as TWC users fall on the issue. Are you glad you bought the game when you did? Are you a happy end user?

Note: Please avoid trolling and flaming, I dont want this thread closed, I'd like to actually see how many people are doing well with the game and how many are not.

only because i know it will get better even if the mods have to take over.

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.

Indeed, brought it for future mods.. And I expect the usual 6 to 12 months before fully patched and working

I am happy i bought the game. Itys the only game i am playing at the moment and i love watching the devastating effect volleyfire can have on the opponent. All the available mods make it even better cuz you can customise your game by adding mods to fill in the gaps. So great game and super that the game is moddable.

Not really. Empires leaves a bad taste that no other tW game has ever done to me.

I followed CA for a long time like a loyal acolyte and believed all their promises. My first disappointment was when I heard it was Steam only with no choice. Especially during the release period where the moderaters turned into stalin-like yes boys and certain questions were ignored by devs which should have been a major warning that something was wrong. Since I was still a fan I got Empires on day release anyway, expecting a relatively bug free experience. I even got their crappy special edition which was worse than the mTW2 special edition for what you got. From there it all went downhill.

I won`t buy their game on day of release ever again.

I will not buy Steam games ever again since I have seen nothing to prove that the customer benefits from it at all. All my early worries about Steam ethically and practically have been correct. Soif CA stay with Steam, they`ve lost one customer for good. Of course, I`m just one statistic so they won`t care.

Unless CA makes an optional non-Steam version that`s it for me.

No. I would have still bought the game, probably when I saw it cheaper, but I paid £40 for it and that money is definetly not been worth it thus far.

only if they bring out multi campaign

Sail your ship as part of a fleet. Devs previously worked on: Darthmod, World of Warplanes, World of Tanks, RaceRoom, IL2-Sturmovik, Metro, STALKER and many other great games..

There're countless games about Carribean and pirates.5 by Ascaron, 3 + expansions by Sunflowers.Sea dogs and other action oriented from Russian devs.Sid Meier and more from USA .There're numberless pre-Napoleonic
era games and they took the only game who dealt with ancient times and turned it into one more pre-Napoleonic and even got a third party into this all-Steam.

    Yes, because:
Eventually there will be patch which fixes bugs, CTDs and improves AI
    There will be mods
ETW is the only game which sets in 18th century and you can fight land and naval battles and there is campaign map too.

I wish for Rome 2 like that. But with far more sophisticated strategy.

Yes, I've had a few CTDs but nothing that loses a campaign completely. (I've played Sweden until 1826 and Poland-Lithuania until 1836.)

Personally, I am looking forward to the full blown mods that will be released in 6 months or more time. Hopefully, they will have a more realistic unit roster.

Am I glad to have played it despite all its failing? Yes, I've had a lot of fun with it. Partially because of some great mods.

Am I glad I bought it on day one? No.

There are some annoying moments, this may not be true for a lot of people, but i got more annoyed playing rome than empire, despite what some may say, i really like the naval battles (the only bug i've exprienced so far being crashes when i broadside ships i'm boarding, but thats deliverance for being a and killing my own guys), the diplomacy is good, apart from peace settlements being extortionate even when you're winning (i got a demand for 290000 for peace from britain to end a war that had drawn no blood between me and them).

These things do annoy, but overall i'm glad i bought it, 30 quid well spent
Bad luck Jerry, third time lucky, eh?

I'll be happy only when you lot inform me that naval invasion has been fixed.
There is absolutely no joy or challenge in building an empire virtually immune from invasion from any direction except the landward.
For a war simulation based around the Grand Age of Sail the lack of this feature is truly game breaking.

I've got some enjoyment from the game but my frustration and dissapointment outweighs that. Utimately i wish i could "unbuy" the game so I could send CA and SEGA a clear message that this is not good enough!
