    Hi All

I my Playing MOS 1.6.2, High Elves
Now in Turn 80 or something i realized that i cant upgrade some villages (they reached the pop cap of 1500 ..)
Both of these Villages have 1700+ pop and when i hover over the population it just stopped displaying "Can be Upgraded when population Reaches 1500"
and theres no building to buy ..

Anyone noticed that? did they implement villages which will stay forever villages?

    thx for any answer.

Does anybody know how can I get my diplomats not getting their path blocked? It's really annoying and rather pointless

If you don't mind cheating a little, you could just do toggle_fow, and then they'll be able to take a path around obstacles.

I do it. I don't want Grima (oh that infamous wreck!), Dunland's or OotMM's diplomats bribing my armies. So yeah, I block their paths whenever I get the chance.

    Default Questions about recommended difficulty

It says that the recommended campaign difficulty is very hard. Does that apply to the battle difficulty as well?

I wonder, is the mod designed so that it will only work properly if the campaign is played on very hard difficulty? I know the recommended difficulty for Europa Barbarorum is also very hard, but then the AI goes absolutely crazy to kill you no matter what, in a way that doesn't feel particularly plausible. But admittedly the RTW AI is more feral than the one in M2TW. And EB functions perfectly well on other difficulty levels as well.

And what's up with the recommendation not to auto-resolve battles?

A skeptic provisionally proportions acceptance of any claim to valid logic and a fair and thorough assessment of available evidence, and studies the pitfalls of human reason and the mechanisms of deception so as to avoid being deceived by others or themselves. Skepticism values method over any particular conclusion." - Dr Steven Novella

As withwnar said, factions relying on heavy melee infantry are favoured by autoresolve, whereas cavalry-based or missile-based factions as Rohan or the Silvan Elves perform less. In a way this is weird as it's bloody easy for a player to win with a cavalry or missile army, a melee army performs the least in played battles. The factors calculating autoresolve favour the melee army though.

And the game works fine on lower difficulties, I almost only play VH/Vh but the few campaigns I played on lower difficulties had no problems really.

As I understand it the mod's balancing was designed with VH in mind. Battles too I expect but I'm not sure.

Auto-resolve can be heavily unbalanced due to some factions (Orcs, Dwarves) having many units with large numbers of class "heavy infantry": a major factor in auto-resolve calculations, therefore those factions tend to do unfairly well in AR.

that's probably the garrison script, it's not the same thing as recruiting heavy infantry from villages.

The AI as a rule rout much easier and is less aggresive in battle on easier levels.
That must been a misunderstanding, that heavy units were spawned nearby or something, because unit recrutment is locked to certain buildings [high level barracks for high level infantry, and high level barracks are locked to big settlements] and that is not affected by difficulty level.

Unknown AFAIK, even if there's IRL historical examples on that kind of arms; though if he drop in you might get an answer from the creator LouiseLux

In RTW the AI gets stats bonuses in battle on the harder difficulties (on easy the player gets stat bonuses, and on medium nobody gets stat bonuses). Is this not the case with the M2TW engine?

I know that the player suffers morale (and possibly fatigue) hits on higher difficulties - after playing so much medium, I couldn't move to hard because everyone routed so fast.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am me. You are not me. You are you. If I was you, I wouldn't be me.
If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.

Whats the history guild good for?

Also, is there somewhere a list of the guilds for TATW (if they are not the same as in vanilla)?

Hi guys, I recently started playing my first Third Age campaign(tatw 3.2)playing as the Sylvan Elves H/H, with Withnars Submod Collection installed. I didnt want to mod the game too heavily for my first playthrough but the changeable bodyguard and secret paths won me over

I took over fangorn at around turn 15 and granted them autonomy a few turns later. Im at turn 45 now, got the barracks event, and I was wondering if they would ever offer me some Ents? Treebeards woodland friends could really help me strike at Moria and/or Isengard..

According to that script - which was not changed by my submods - there is a 20 turn countdown after autonomy and then a 20% chance that it will happen this turn. I'd say your dice rolling has been unlucky for 10 turns ... keep waiting.
