Could someone link me to some sort of a "character building guide"? Something describing how to build up an ideal general to be a governor, or one to lead armies?
I really appreciate the responseNow i know this probably isn't the right thread for my next question but would there be any type of way to create a mod that affects only the gates ? Example is lets say you have a wooden castle and somehow upgrade the gate to a reinforced wooden gate from a plain wooden gate, and so on up to a steel reinforced stone gate. Just an idea I was pondering.
I believe you need to look in the modding thread for that. I do not know and those who do, will be looking there rather than here.
Sorry to start a new thread but I just got a new PC after my last rig crashed and got third age reinstalled but I've been away for some time and was really surprised when I seen Third age was still at 3.2 and there was no knew updates for it so I was wondering what's happing with Third Age right now that there has not been an update in a really long time
KK has disappeared. I suspect we have seen the last update. Various mods are developing the game though. Personally I am a great fan of MOS.
Moved to Off. TATW Q&A Thread.
Lot of new/ or updated submods expand TATW 3.2 which is already a great game, check them out.![]()

American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..

Hey Guys, i'm pretty new here and here my first question comes:
I'm currently playing Hotseat with a buddy, I'm Isengard and he's Mordor.
We're currently at Turn 154 and I'm wondering why the Ring hasn't shown up yet.
Is there a way to increase the Chance of it showing up or make it happen earlier?
Thanks![]()
Was Kai's Immortal Nazgul mod ever incorporated into TATW? I'm about to lose three Nazgul because Harad screwed me over and triggered the garrison script in North Harondor (I would guess) and magically gave Gondor a full stack to work with and relieve Dol Amroth from my siege. This armies generals take FOREVER to kill (The one time I've attempted the battle the game crashed about a quarter way through... and neither had died despite being locked in battle for a couple minutes) and thus I can't simply wipe it out with the Nazgul as usual. For some reason I was thinking it was apart of 3.2 as some other sub mods have become. Maybe not.
Welcome to TWC Markus
Doubt the Ring-script will work at all in hot seat (never seen it in any of the hot seats I've played), because many script codes can't handle when more than one person is 'the player' [and in your described camapign both Isengard and Mordor are detected as 'player']
Nope, Kai's work is not in TATW.
Weither units got better moral, and perhaps other stats, to stand up against Nazgûl in 3.2 I do however not know.

Is anyone else having big problem with fighting at fords and bridges. Every time I fight at one there always seems to be ridiculous mountains beside them which basically means when defending you are unbeatable. The one below Hamrain is completely flat terrain and yet whenever the battle comes up it is like your fighting in the middle of the Misty Mountains. This is new Mos map, which is great btw, so it might be that.

Well that's too bad, but is there perhaps another possibility to gain the ring?
Some sort of Console command, like give_ancillary? It IS an ancillary after all right?
So it should be possible to get the ring through that command, the question is,
will it work with the getting Sauron thing after all then? That's a script too right?
So I have a problem: I'm playing as Mordor (With MOS this time) and throughout my campaign Khamul has been waging a pretty effective war in the North against the various factions up there. Sadly after a simultaneous assault by Dale, The Elves of Lorien, The Silvan Elves, and Rohan (Rohan making some random stab at that settlement in the Brown Lands), Khamul has finally been cornered in Dol Guldur with his full stack and is under siege from an army of over 5000 Elves (Lorien and Silvan). I was planning on taking a ton of them down with me but as soon as the actual fighting starts the game gets insanely laggy. Combined with the Elves forces there are something like 7000 units on the field at the moment. I really doubt it but would their happen to be a way to make it less laggy? Turning down graphics options does nothing at all, and I've begun to think that my PC just isn't really that compatible with Medieval 2; it should be able to handle this.
EDIT: Nevermind, I think I'll just auto-resolve. They merely delay the inevitable anyways...

I'm reading a lot of submod threads that talk about pathfinding. What is this?
Do the Beornings ever actually transform into bears? The description card says they can, but I've never seen this happen, and it doesn't seem like the Medieval 2 game engine would allow for such a thing.

Path finding is the AI's ability to move around the campaign map and battle map, for example a badly made settlement with no pathfinding in mind would see units stuck on random parts of the roads the corners and walls etc. and for example a badly made map would have the ai going miles around to get to the settlement half a turn away from them.
@Ringer: No not as far as i know. Thats simply lore spice
