Perhaps he means activity in real life, as he goes on to say it's an opportunity to do more EBII stuff: "Activity has been low these last weeks... Opportunity to work in diplomacy, start armies, traits and ethnicities for the new factions. ~JMRC".
Also judging by the tweets, it seems to me that quite a lot has been done the last few weeks. New RTW-style phalanx animations (with 3! rows of lowered sarissas), new horse models, overhauled voice mod, strat map resources finished (plus redone volcanos) etc. etc ... - Btw, great work guys!

Thinking about this some more, it doesn't really make much sense. Creating these truely fantastic ship models (and those of that Germanic boat, sry forgot the name), just to put a tiny image of them into the unit's info card?! Am I the only one who finds that a little overambitious?
I'm not suggesting that the team is working on a secret 'naval battles project' or whatnot, but surely those beauties will be used for some other purpose as well. Perhaps for somekind of EBII (intro-/event-)movies for example?

True. Perhaps alin simply really, really enjoys making ship models. I would be a shame though, if these stunning pieces of art were only to be used as mere 'models' for unit info card images.

its christmas or "pre-christmas" holiday for them i guess they will have another update next year since they also had to celebrate "pre-new years eve" holiday as well as "post new-year day" holiday you know they had their lives and had lots of holidays so don't bother to read their twitter account and they might even spend time to celebrate "pre-chinese new year holiday" and "post chinese new year holiday" too so that makes it around March so be patient buddy they will return "eventually lol

Well the Takshila and Sweboz previews were removed. So its possible they were removed to make space for a new faction preview which may come soon .

When I read your post I was suprised that such great previews were removed, but then I realized that they were only removed from sticky threads section I think you are right, the Christmas are coming and making preview must take very long time. Maybe these will also explain the low activity on twitter and public forums.
