Autumn still. We are just waiting for a few more things to be done before we start testing

    Like any of these?

(Nah, just kidding. I vaguely remember some team member(s?) saying these units most probably won't be in for the next release, if they make it into EB II at all.. Looking forward to that next release very much, anyway. )

My first instinct would be to say Parthian Cataphracts, but since they've already got new horses, I'm gonna go with Sarmatian or Chorasmian cataphracts.

the bear skin barding is awesome by the way.
I tend to edit my posts once or several times after writing and uploading them. Please keep this in mind when reading a recent post of mine. Also, should someone, for some unimaginable reason, wish to rep me, please add your username in the process, so I can at least know whom to be grateful towards.

    My thanks in advance.

Oh man, those Armenian cataphracts are going to be beautiful! I can't wait to see them and the Hellenistic cataphracts in action (to say nothing about Parthia and Sauromatae).

I will warn you now, cataphracts are some of the most expensive units in the game. Even more than elite phalanxes. They'll set you back around 3000 mnai and have an upkeep around 750/season.

Ah. Then it must be the:
    Aeldary Aembaltae (Sarmatian Bodyguard Cavalry)

Just as it should be, in EB1 their upkeep was even higher (> 1000 mnai).

Ah, no, elites do not refresh that quickly. It's every 25 turns.

Excuse me, sir, but after enough steamrolling and building up of economic infrastructure, I'll be recruiting John Hammond as my chief strategos so that he may implement the policies of sparing no expense. It worked out so well for his theme park, Jurassic Park. If they cost too damn much, so be it! Bankruptcy never looked so beautiful.

You'll want to kill off your family members early in the game with that sort of upkeep, just so you can actually start building governments and ensure the growth of Armavir for your reforms... :-\

Family members get significantly reduced upkeep- I think about 1/10 of the original upkeep. That's why Taksashila can have elephant bodyguards without going bankrupt.

Precisely this; FMs cost 1/10th the normal upkeep (which given they are half the size, means they are actually 1/20th the normal upkeep for their unit type). They will not bankrupt you just because you have a large family.
