By a long shot, what was the most elite, well-equipped, well-armored, and thoroughly trained military unit of the the Hellenistic period? I'm guessing it belongs to either the Ptolemies or Seleucids considering they had the money for it, but it could have easily been Carthage or even the Kingdom of Macedonia under the Antigonid dynasty.

Most definitely NOT Carthage. The others seem like solid candidates, though.

I was looking mostly at the earlier period, but an evolution/change of practise over time would make sense. Especially as their dominions began to shrink.

All four Celtic levies on the feed. If you do any recruiting in Celtic areas, you'll see a lot of those, regardless of which faction you are. Some of the semi-professional troops you might have been used to seeing (Kingetoi, Bataroas, Garkokladoi, etc) have been pushed up, meaning there's an advantage Celtic factions get in terms of troop quality over someone just recruiting in those areas. You've got to be a Celtic faction to get the likes of Retainers.

Thank you TrVe Leveler for the work on Celtic levies and britanic troops!
If I remember correctly in EB1 it would say that celtic reforms would have an effect in the ratio of levies/regulars/elites, that during the "Time of the Freemen" regulars would be much more common but after the later reforms their availability would decrease while both elites and levies would become much more common. Will that still aply in EB2 since now its easiest to apply due to unit replenishment rates?

We don't currently have anything like that in place. There are unit upgrades pegged to the Hellenistic Military Reforms (for the sake of having something to peg them to, rather than implying they moved together), but that's all so far.

How many new units will there be?

About thirty are done so far (and there are about another ten re-workings of existing units that had placeholders), we have more in the works. If you browse the Twitter feed, you'll see all of those which are complete.

Coming soon to the feed, a new unit with the (now relatively rare) frighten_foot. Can anyone guess what it might be?

Tindanotae, Urodusios, Agosepanoi Combaro, Wargoz, Ulfhednar.

I'm guessing it's one of the above, but I'm hoping for Saka cataphracts.

Any unit with frighten_foot is surely awesome (I suppose most naked units will not have it anymore since now we have so many) but the Lugiones are deeply in need of love and the Night Fighters would make the faction much more interesting!

Thracian Hippeis on the Twitter feed!

Are they the ones with the 'frighten_foot' attribute, though?

No, they are not. I won't spoil it, you'll know it when you see them.
