Seriously, though, they look cool. I love their shield patterns! Very colorful. I also like the mixture of bronze and iron helmets as usual. Their body armor looks really interesting too. I would love to know about the research behind that.

Arent the shoulder guards a bit oversized ? Great looking unit though, especially with the hanging heads !

Also do they have a new saddle blanket variant ? The fur one, or did I just not notice it because Celts are mostly just a factor as enemies or mercenaries in my campaigns. The last fully visible trooper on the far left in the first pic, does he have a centaur depicted in the upper right corner of his shield ? Its obstructed by the troopers spear right of him.

I really like the new Iberian and Gallic units – top quality work as always, but I agree that shoulder guards are a little oversized Itīs also great to see reference pictures by Geneva

Also I want to ask if the Cohors Tumultuaria (hopefully itīs written correctly) will be in new version – I would like to start long Roman campaign after they are available, so Iīm a little bit curious

I like how there are little heads dangling from the horses
Some of the horses have white heads/faces, is that intentional? Did the barbs paint their horses white so that they looked like skulls, or am I being too imaginative?

Its the natural coat color of the steeds, this way you can spot celtic horses, even when used by other ethnicities like the Tarabostes or Equites Auxiliares.

    You're goddamn right they can.

I love the mounts and steeds of EBII, especially the cataphracts. If all horses were armored and shiny like that, it would be historically inaccurate, but I'd be so happy.

Something something, in-utero melanocyte migrations and X-linked Chromosomal genes. Ever see a calico cat before? Given that horses are mammals like cats, and come in all sorts of colors(including some who are mostly white with a few brown patches), I'd reckon the biological mechanism might be related to the calico cat(or tortoise shell cat) situation; so maybe something to do with melanocyte migrations during development.

Here's a turn 758 Sakan playtest minimap, from the dev build:

Yes, you can get to turn 758 without any fatal errors. Anyone remember the days of the 2.2x series, where you'd be lucky to get to turn 200?

I don't think I've gotten to 758 turns yet in any campaign yet, but I definitely got to about turn 720 or so in the last campaign, into the 1st century BC.

My current campaign is well into the 850s turns and still rolling good!
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

Granted, I haven't played anywhere close to that many turns in a single game, but I'm impressed by how many factions are still alive! Most other mods end up with a handful of mega empires to duke it out in the late game.

Seriously! I always conquer a huge empire and by the time that's finished there's probably only about six or seven factions left, with one other faction being a roughly equal superpower on the campaign map, and obviously an enemy faction (with small periods of truces and peace treaties).

Some things in this game are addictive, kinda like crack. Dave Chappelle can explain:

Indeed, EBII team. Give us more. Give us MORE Hellenistic units.

Just kidding, great job with the recent stuff, though!

There aren't many Hellenistic units left, and the focus has been elsewhere lately. There are more to come, don't worry.

At last count, there are 40 new units since 2.3.

Dude, I was just joking around a bit, you actually do have some Hellenistic units left? I thought they were all done! You guys aren't doing the Rhodian slingers, are you?
