This could be a possibility but whta scares me is that in the IGN hands'on they said that Desmond will learn Ezio's moves, Desmond already as the Eagle Vision ability so I'm not confident in your hypothese. This is going to be a "WAIT AND SEE THING" either at the end of AC 2 or when the third game of this fabolous trilogy.

I think the modern setting is the only logical setting for the 3rd one, seeing as its the final one. And I think it would have the same type of gameplay as the other 2, I mean people still freerun in modern times and use knives etc.

It seems likely that it'll be set in modern time, but I bloody hope not...there are enough gun games. Don't make one of the rare sword games that isnt hack and slash and then make us shoot things.

I just hope they never abandon going back into the past, a modern game could be fun but I want the past too.

Guys, why can't it be both? Desmond doing some fighting with knives and guns, but still has to spend most of the time in the animus in another time period. Or at least have the game finish with him defeating the Templars. That would be a climax.

Thats what I mean, they could make a game that has both present/future and the past and is awesome, it just needs both.

I doubt Desmond will be fighting half of the game. I would think they would've given us more information on that if it was the case.

Since us pc-gamers have to wait a ittle longer, i started replaying the first one. Makes me pay more attention to the details.

Now i know the most things of the plot of AC1, except one thing. When Vidic tells about Abstergo that has invented many things during the last 1000 years, he says "they are gifts, of Those Who Came Before"

Anyone know who those are?

In the ign preview I posted I'm pretty sure it says he fights some abstergo guards when breaking out of the compound and that there is gunfire exchange.

You are right but that is only in the begining of the game right after you were in the Animus as Ezio at Baby stage.

So...its just a preview, they said they were not allowed to discuss the other present day parts they saw. Plus in the developer videos they've dropped very explicit hints that they want to Desmond to have an active role in AC2.

Exactly, they didnt show anything of the Animus before the 1st game was released, and they've said plenty of times they're not going to show ant stuff with Desmond, they don't want to reveal everything before the game comes out.

I finally gave in and started watching those dev diaries and such...I was trying to not do so and thus be even more awe struck when I actually got the game, but damn...this looks amazing...I'm so excited! Thank God for release day delivery via Amazon
