    Default Musket ranges

Is there anyway to mod musket ranges for one faction only?

Random question I know, but ive searched and couldnt find anything close to this.

Well the range is contained within the projectile table, so the only way I can think of doing it would be to create a new projectile, and a new unit to use it, which is a fair bit of work if you're new to this sort of thing. I may be wrong though, as that's just my opinion, and I am in no way an expert at this stuff.
    Good luck

    Thanks for your reply!!

I was just looking, i edited a couple of the ranges, but thats just a broad overview and edits all units, I wonder if I could edit just the british line infantry range? Im not sure how it would work, and I dont want to screw up my game!

Yeah, it's never a good idea to edit things contained directly within the game files, you should create a self-contained mod pack with your edited tables within. As for making it apply to only one unit, like I said above, you would need to add a new projectile to the projectiles table, and then edit the line infantry of one faction to use it.

Heheh, there's plenty of tutorial threads floating around, like the ones here. Everybody's gotta start somewhere, and experimenting is the best way (as long as it's safe of course ). I myself am still a pretty new to this sort of stuff, as are loads of other people
    Glad I could help.

i haven't modded ETW because i don't have it anymore but previous total war games you couldn't change the range of a specific faction unit if without changing the range for the whole unit used by other factions. You would need to create a new unit for GB only and then change the range.
"we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

    Here you go.
Unfortunately it only changes units unique to Britain - British Line Infantry, Green Jackets and Coldstream/Black Watch. I could try extending it to the other units, but it would mean creating a load of new ones specific to britain, which would take a lot of time.
    Hope this'll do mate
