most shootings seem to do with the economy...good thing the markets have gone up 20% since obama was elected...
You look great today.
nah most shootings have to do with crazy people and firearms making contact.
I am pretty sure they were all legal guns
The odds are still way better that you're going to get killed on your way to work because some nimrod spilled his soy latte in his lap and blew through a red light...
well these rampage killers are still statistically insignificant on the greater gun violence scale. They are just big headline news. Last time I looked some 500,000 people die a year on our roads. I would be more afraid of some 16 year old who just got her permit flies down the road talking on her cell phone and doing her makeup, then I would getting shot by some rampage killer.
You're just a little off there. According to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), in 2007 there were 37,248 traffic fatalities.
ok maybe just a little
here is 2002
Motor Vehicle Accidents 43,354
Firearms 28,663
NOTE: Firearms Statistics Include Gang Warfare, Self Defense Shootings and Criminals Killed by Police
in any given year at least half or more of the firearm homicides are suicide
( suicide is a homicide).
What's the average monthly rate?
Hard to gauge if this month was odd without knowing what it usually is.
Interesting to know that there are about half as many firearm deaths as traffic fatalities in the US. I would have guessed that there would be many more traffic fatalities, guess I underestimated how big the gun problem in the US really is.
Also, people don't react based on how likely it is for them to die, or else most Americans would probably eat a lot healthier and drive a lot more safely, wouldn't they?
Look at how few, if any, Americans die from terrorism every year, and yet Americans are more afraid of terrorism than they are of a death from firearm or car, though the latter are inestimably more likely.

Suicide being considered homicide is absolutely retarded.
Chaigidel, I guarantee you that gang members don't go to gun stores and go through background checks to get their guns.![]()

a new record
Obviously people need to learn to drive. But less firearm related deaths is always good too.here is 2002
Motor Vehicle Accidents 43,354
Firearms 28,663
This just proves that more people in America need to carry guns! If everyone had guns this sort of thing wouldn't happen, the maniac shooters would get killed straight away if they tried to cause any trouble.
We need to be more like the Swiss. An AK-47 or better in every front room by the door and ready for use. Let's give real meaning to a well regulated militia, Let's see what that does to the nut cases wanting to mow down an unarmed public.
