Can I run this game??
Hi I really want to get this game but I want to know if I can run it even if my I have to set all the settings down a bit. How much detail will it take away?
I have a Dell E510
3.0 GHZ Single Core Processor
4GB of RAM
XP
I dont really know the video card but its the one that came with the computer so it probably isint a gaming one.

No, never.
Well maybe lowest settings at a crappy resolution but there's really no point in playing at those settings.

why never? The minimum requirements says 2.4GHZ and 1GB of RAM. I well exceed those requirements

Yeah but your graphics card sounds like it's integrated which doesn't put your computer off to a great start. And the minimum requirements they listed can play the game at the absolute lowest settings and a bad resolution, so it looks really really bad (worse than Rome). Really, the minimum requirements are a bad indicator.
And then there's optimization problems with the game, even some high-powered rigs can't get good framerates.
But if you don't believe me, download the demo and find out for yourself.

It's worth a crack Nigel, though you may have to auto-calc all your battles.
My system is below spec and runs the game ok, albeit sans eye candy. In fact, with the addition of prestige victory, among other features, and the combination of low res battle gfx, I almost feel like I'm playing the original MTW ... good times
(2GHz AMD Winnie with a gig of ram and a 6800GT)
