Palestinian Country, For or Against?

If this would go into a public vote, are you for a Palestinian country, or are you against a Palestinian country? Please state why in the post.


My opinion:
Other - With a founding of a new nation for the Palestinians I have no doubt in my mind the terrorist acts will not stop, however, once they don't, Israel can pull all the stops and won't be under the eyes of the entire world as the 'poor Palestinians' cry for help, this time, they won't be able to do anything, a war between nations in an all out war, and Israel can win an all out war.

If the Gazans wanted peace, they would not have voted in the Hamas government in a Free and open democratic election (according to the UN)

They should have their own state and Israel should cede some of the land away that it forcefully annexed. I think a 2-state solution should at least be experimented with and peace sought after.

Against - We do not negotiate with terrorists
This assumes that the whole people of Palestine are terrorists which is really sad thing to do.

Im for it mostly in the sense that it would probably be better off for everyone because its not worth it for the Israelis to upkeep the west bank and gaza and its apparantly what the palestinians want anyway, so why not?

Even if you have no sympathy for the Palestinians (and i somewhat do), Israel is better off with this solution.
Eventually a solution to the current situation has to come, Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank can't remain stateless, agreed?

So it comes down to either 2 States or one state shared between Jews and Palestinians.
The second option means one thing - Palestinian majority in Israel is 10-15 years.
Is this what you want? I certainly don't.
Demographic studies already show that Arabs will become a majority in Israel in 50 years, so imagine settling another 3 million.

However it's not possible right now. The PA has to stop it's corruption, Abu-Mazen has to stop it's hostility towards Israel and it has to become a real peace partner.
Then, Israel and the U.S might arm the PA so it can deal with terrorist organizations and help in disarming Hamas and similar groups since Hamas won't do with a state in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem.
This is to prevent a situation similar to Lebanon where a militant organization is arming itself and carrying out terror attacks un-interrupted because the Lebanese army is a joke.

That, and there's also the question about Israel's Palestinians.
It's unfair that 1.5 Million Palestinians will live in Israel while no Jew will live in his own home in the West Bank that will belong to a Palestinian state since the PA will obviously demand evacuation of jewish settlements in the West Bank who might have been living there just as long as Arabs have lived in the Triangle area.
But for that sort of Population exchange you need the Arab Israeli willingness to do so which surprise surprise, they utterly reject, National Insurance payments from Israel are just too good to give up on i suppose.

Nobody (worth listening to) considers the one-state solution to be the proper one, so you're arguing against a non-entity. The most commonly-held view is a two-state solution based on the 1947 UN-mandated borders.

Agreed, it's not a practical idea, mainly for the reason that i pointed out.

However absolutely not 1947 Partition plan.
A Palestinian state should be in the pre-67 West Bank, Gaza and most o East Jerusalem. (Thus keeping holy Jewish sites like the Western Wall in Israeli hands)
This is the common idea.

but regarding "Against - We do not negotiate with terrorists" well on the point of view of the israelis its hard to trust after SO MANY ceasefires, wich few hours later its flying rockets over israel....

but its time for both sides live side by side, without oaths of destruction for israel, or blockades against palestinians, its all about good will and respect, give books and food and other stuff to build a new society and not give guns and teach kids how to make suicide attacks.

So its time to both sides negotiate and be serious, re-build, trade, prosperity and not violence.

The large amount of settlements in the West Bank could be used to compensate Palestinian families who lost land in the various wars.
