These films are absolute classics. Modern British comedy at its best along with the office and Peep Show. What do you think of these films??

They are not classics. But they are good. As I recall, people walked out of the theater during Hot Fuzz.Didn't understand the humor, I suppose.

What makes a classic? They are, without a doubt, some of my favourite comedies.
Dunno, something you can always plug in and is still funny/good/dramatic/whatever after seeing it loads of times?

I thought they were wonderful films, but it's a peculiar kind of comedy. Many of my mates who don't game, watch cartoons, cheesy action and horror flicks,... they just didn't get it, while other mates with similar hobbies as me found it hilarious.
I guess it mainly appeals to the 'nerdy' popculture crowd.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...
Great films with good parodies of the films they're meant to be grouped with.
Best parts: Hot Fuzz
When danny fires his gun in the air like point break.
When the church brick falls on the reporter.
The entire shootout.
Best Parts: Shaun of the Dead
The record throwing. "NO!! NOT BLUE MONDAY!!!
The zombie walk.

Simon Pegg, Jessica Stevenson and Edgar Wright developed this style of comedy in the TV series SPACED in the early 90's (you may notice that Edgar Wright directed both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz).
All of this work is packed full of references to popular culture, many of which I miss, despite my own nerdyness.
I also like what Simon Pegg has done with David Schwimmer (Big Nothing and Run Fatboy Run) even if they are a bit more mainstream.
Yeah. I liked Run Fatboy Run too. It was aimed at a broader audience, and the jokes were a lot more blatantly obvious. Dylan Moran was what enticed me to go see it, and it was his performance that made me enjoy it. The fight scene was good. I find David Schwimmer annoying, I detest friends.
Seen Black Books? That's some top notch alternative British comedy I feel was never fully appreciated, including Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey.
Frost and Pegg, and Mitchell and Webb are some of my favourite comedians.
I still havent seen Spaced, despite having wanted to for a few years, I'll get round to it one day...
But yeah, they are really, really funny movies. And Peep Show is just awesome.
Ah these are some of my most favorite movies ever, how could some one walk out on them, I do not know. I have heard of Spaced and wanted to see it, but never got around to it.
You forgot
The music mixing episode after they come home from the pub.
Also when Queen is playing and they are attacking the Zombie.
Yeah, I mean I could understand some people not getting the humour in some British comedies, but I dont really see Hot Fuzz as a comedy that is that hard to understand.
