    Default Unit size increase?

    Hi, i got M2:TW since yesterday, and i was wondering how to get bigger unit sizes? i have changed it from normal to huge/large? in the options menu.
    but 120 still seems small to me. is there a way to make it even bigger?

    Thnx!

    Uhm, if you want to make your computer explode, I would recommend keeping it small.

    take the file i attached at the end of the post, and put it in m2tw/data

    open it and go to any unit's entry, it will look like this :
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    the bolded number is the number of soldiers in normal unit size. it is doubled in huge unit size.
    modify it to any number you want, save and close.

    now, go to m2tw folder, right click medieval2.preference.cfg , click properties, uncheck read-only and apply.
    now open it, and add the following to the front of it:
    Code:
    [io]
    file_first = 1

    [log]
    to = logs/system.log.txt
    level = * trace
    save,close,right click > properties > check read-only > apply > launch game

    i never played multiplayer so i don't really know, but my guess is:
    you aren't allow to play multiplayer with modded files
    or
    the default files are stored somewhere on the multiplayer server and are used no matter the game file status

    for it to work you should have m2tw installed without the kingdom expansions, otherwise it will read the kingdom files and up your game

    i have clean m2tw installed in a folder and m2tw+kingdoms+any other mods in another folder

    and also try this:
    go to the medieval2.preference.cfg file you just edited, and change level = * trace to level = * error
    now try to start your game again and check your system.log file in the logs folder, and copy it here

    you could,as i said, do 2 separate installs
    - one with only vannila m2tw
    - another with m2tw,kingdoms and all the you wanna throw at your game

    Just out curiosity, is there a max unit size?

    E.g. In normal settings, by using your example, the "soldier Mailed_Knights, 32, 0, 1" currently has 32 in normal settings, but is there a max number which we're able to change it to? E.g. no more than 100?

    I was thinking about giving the Silvan Spear units in The Third Age a few more, since the Elves lack "decent" units other than archers until late-game and Ents.

    Yes, 100 is the max on the kingdoms exe. 60 is the max on the medieval2 exe. You multiply by 2.5 for huge unit size, so this translates to 250 for Kingdoms and 150 for Vanilla. There is also a hardcoded max of 3 officers per unit. So the final max unit size should be 253/153 I think.
