Guess what.. Unspecified error..

Hey guys.. I just installed Medieval 2 Total war and the Kingdoms expansion.. When i finish the installation, i start the game, and before i reach the main menu the screen goes dark (after the image with the soldiers) and it says the known: "Medieval 2 total war has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"... I had Medieval 2 and Kingdoms installed 3 months ago, and i was playing just fine, so i dont know what happened now.. I didn't get any different graphic or sound cards, i didn't do any updates.. Any ideas??

What other software have you installed since the first time you installed Medieval2 and Kingdoms?

Only a few games.. The witcher, Rainbow six : Vegas 2, and stuff.. I dont think they create the prob.. But u know what? When i installed Medieval 2 for the 1st time, i had 1 Gb RAM in my pc.. Now i have 2 Gb RAM.. U think this caused a complication?

The Witcher and Rainbow Six won't Rainbow Six won't cause problems. 2 gig of ram will only help.
You still have something else.

I tried to reinstall it 2 times and it didn't work.. Maybe if i uninstall the original cds and download the game from the internet, that would help?

Can any1 give me a list with sound/graphics cards and stuff that Medieval 2 requires in order to play?

Seriously, the dvds are better than the download. The only thing that would keep you from playing would be something that has changed. The one thing that would do it is a bad dvd.Before installing, have you gone over your dvds to make sure there are no scratches, dirt, fingerprints, etc.? If you have one in the wrong spot, it will install the game and never get that file under the scratch.

I play mine with the Realtek sound chip on the motherboard with no problems. Graphics cards, if could play it before you should be able to play it, again. My video card is two years old.

If you have programs, especially games that use Securom copy protection, it will kick you out. So will dvd burning software, illegal things like torrents, warez, and emulation software.

It's either a bad dvd or something you have installed. Odds are the dvd is okay.
