Fire while retreating option?

Is it possible to change or modify the files so we can have units to fire while retreating. I think it's better suited for light infantry, so after one soldiers fire he will fall back. I mean just the opposite of fire while advance. Because its sometime annoying when the units have to turn to fall back and then turn again to face the enemy and then fire. Quite cumbersome process.

Im not sure if we know how the scripting for the various abilities works, might have to wait for mod tools.

That would be a helpful option. Maybe somehow reverse the fire while advancing language????
